Harm Reduction Health Project's Shot Clinic's Blurbs
About me: Harm Reduction Health Project's Shot Clinic
Every Friday from 4:30pm to 6:00pm. We are currently meeting in a temporary space we're renting from RECLAIM/Janet Bystrom at 3217 Hennipen Ave in South Minneapolis. We will be renting a permanent space by the first of the new year. We still do mobile outreach twice a week to do syringe exchange and the shot clinic. Please e-mail us for directions.
The Shot Clinic is a place for Trans identified people who are currently using or will be using injectable hormones (testosterone-estrogen) at some point. We also work with all communities who are in need of clean needles and other harm reduction services. You can come into our program, have a health care professional inject your shot for you, and also attend our Education/Support Groups which run while you wait for your shot. We will be having numerous topics focusing on Transgender Health Care such as How to do your own shot, Teaching your family and friends how to do your shots, Info around syringe sizes, needle exchange, Hepatitis C, HIV, Safer sex info, Safer Drug Use info, Nutrition, Exercise, SRS surgery info, Name Change/Gender change workshops, etc.. If you want to get your shot done at the shot clinic you will need to bring in your prescription/hormones and ID. You’ll also need to sign a Medical Liability Form and fill out an anonymous demographic sheet.
Who I'd like to meet: We are now renting a space from RECLAIM/Janet Bystrom.
We will be having the Shot Clinic in an upstairs office at 3217 Hennipen Ave in South Minneapolis. Every Friday from 4:30 to 6:00pm. We hope to find a new space soon. We will also provide a mobile exchange and shot clinic twice a week to help people with their shots. So stop on down to if you need your shot or call Ian at 952-457-5833.
We will keep everyone updated when we find a new space to rent. Thank you for all your support and help.

About FTM Book Vol. 1 FTM Book Vol 1: A Basic Introduction to Transman Life is an easy-to-understand, yet comprehensive primer on FTM issues such as:
What is an FTM? How do FTMs see themselves? Appearance Stages in Transition Surgeries Available Common Personal Histories Violence Discrimination Health Issues Counseling Relationships Common Legal Issues
We've worked hard to help create definitions that will help you talk about trans issues with others, including terms for body parts unique to the FTM and by naming the stages of transitioning. This book is great for anyone who who is having trouble understanding the lifestyle or choices of a transperson. When we first began dating, we were shocked that there was no one place that he (Aaron) could turn to show me (Crystal) "See, this explains what being an FTM means." We hope that this book will be a good start.
Best of all, when you order FTM Book Vol. 1: A Basic Introduction to Transman Life you can feel good knowing that sales of the book are being used to fund more research to help FTMs and their partners get through the challenges of their lives. This is a great book for youself and for anyone you know who could use a little more understanding. Also, you can help teach others about trans issues by donating copies to your local high schools, colleges, LGBT centers and libraries.
