About Shotgun Memories [DEBUT EP AVAILABLE NOW!!!]
SHOTGUN MEMORIES is a band that was not supposed to be…and that’s what makes them special.
When Roman and Julien decided to leave their native France and move to America in late 2006, they knew it was a huge step. They started their own label with a friend of theirs, and started playing shows all over California. They slept on shitty couches & ate way too much ramen noodles, but it was all worth it - only a few months after they arrived, they met Kyle, started recording songs with producers Mudrock (Avenged Sevenfold, Godsmack, Eighteen Visions) and former Machine Head & Soulfly guitarist Logan Mader (Cavalera Conspiracy, Five Finger Death Punch, Divine Heresy) and played tons of shows with bands like Unwritten Law, The Dear & Departed, Love Hate Hero, So They Say, and more.
But the band found its original line-up only a few months later, when 18-year old Cris came into the picture. “We knew we had the right drummer…about 30 seconds after we started his audition! Here was this kid, just nailing it and enjoying it more than anybody else we’ve ever played with”. The band worked on a bunch of new songs and again called on Mudrock to record them. The result is a signature brand of raw, pure yet melodic rock ‘n’ roll. “I’m a really big fan of bands like Guns ‘n’ Roses, Def Leppard, Motley Crüe, stuff like that” says Roman. “These guys in the 80’S have had this balls-out, take no prisoners attitude. And I think we have that, which is a good thing, especially these days when you have all these bands sounding the same and saying the same things. We don’t come from a nice place, we’re angry at the world and we express all our anger, hunger, love and pain in our songs."
The band’s debut 8 song EP, From the Sewers to the Stage is available on Itunes, Amazon, Napster, Lala and Groupie Tunes.
