SATB is an Indie Rock band that hails from the Midwest and began in a local garage in Derby Kansas in 2006. The band members range in ages 15-18 and are all attending or graduating from high schools in Derby, Haysville and Wichita.
All music and lyrics are written by the band and a great deal of effort is spent being original in a world of so many things that sound the same. Front man Drake Hocutt writes most of the lyrics and has a level of energy on stage that is very contagious to anyone around him. The band is very high energy and loves to play live for the fans and really involves them in the music. It is difficult to stand still when SATB is on stage.
In early 2008, SATB entered the studio to record their 1st EP. Since that time they have been in high demand to perform throughout Kansas. On May 14th, 2008 SATB opened a show in Wichita for two national bands and EPIC records recording artist “The White Tie Affair (Chicago) and Breathe Carolina (Denver)”.
Future plans for the band are to go back into the studio in late 2008 and begin work on a full length CD to be released in the spring of 2009, and then begin touring the album starting in the summer.
