WORCESTER SHARKS vs. BRIDGEPORT SOUND TIGERS @ the DCU Center 11/28-09
Sound Tigers' captain Trevor Smith(23) and assistant captain Greg Moore(15) both put up quite the view block in front of Sharks' goalie Alex Stalock(32).
the pass in front eludes Trevor Smith(23) for the scoring chance.
Sound Tigers' left wing Justin DiBenedetto(9) attempts to emerge from inside the net, pushing Alex Stalock(32) out of his way back into the play.
Sound Tigers' leading scorer Sean Bentivoglio(14) gets a bit tangled up with Stalock(32) as he looks to tip the shot.
Sharks' rookie center Logan Couture(9) was back with Worcester after a brief call-up to San Jose. he scored his 7th goal of the season in the game.
Sharks' defenseman Jason Demers(5) was back in Worcester for the first time this season after spending the first 27 games with San Jose.
all hell breaks loose at theSound Tigers' can sense they're going to get beat by the Sharks in this one.
Alex Stalock(32) is sporting his newly painted "Heroes Night" mask that will go along with special jerseys the team wears to commemorate on Sunday, December 6.
Alex Stalock(32) gets mobbed by his teammates after winning 4-1, his 11th and a team season high 5th in a row.
LOWELL DEVILS vs. HARTFORD WOLF PACK @ Tsongas Arena 11/25-09
the Devils' winger Patrick Davis(15) barrels down the slot towards the net and would get the game's opening tally.
now that's a daunting trio of Wolf Pack forwards skating toward the bench during a break in the game: Dale Weise(23), Corey Locke(84) and Dane Byers(34)
unable to reach a deal with an NHL club, veteran defenseman Mathieu Dandenault(25) signed an AHL contract with Hartford and has been nothing but an asset to the team.
AHL All-Star defenseman Bobby Sanguinetti(21) was recently called-up by New York Rangers for the first time this season.
Devils' goalie Mike McKenna(1) finally exchanged his Norfolk Admirals' painted mask for a new New Jersey Devils' model. kind of a wonder why he didn't include a Lowell logo on the head gear.
McKenna(1) shows his disgust to the linesman on the goal judge's questionable call on the second, game leading Wolf Pack score that shifted the momentum.
Wolf Pack right wing Dale Weise(23) takes the pass in tight for the easy tip in goal three that effectively put this one away.
Devils' leading scorer Vladimir Zharkov(17) tries a stuff attempt on the Pack' goalie Chad Johnson(29) but the puck is deflected and bounces harmlessly behind the net. Zharkov(17) was just called-up by New Jersey for the first time in his career.
a pair of 21's tangle: on a conditioning assignment to Lowell, New Jersey Devils' tough guy Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond(21) gives Wolf Pack defenseman Bobby Sanguinetti(21) a shove in hopes to create some space between him and a scoring attempt.
also on a conditioning assignment mention (read: wake up call) Ilkka Pikkarainen(10) has that look on his face that says "game over." he was fortunate that New Jersey injuries forced them to call him back up after only one game with Lowell.
Wolf Pack defenseman Michael Sauer(4) is the first to congratulate Chad Johnson(29) on his ninth win 4-1 of the season.
WORCESTER SHARKS vs. NORFOLK ADMIRALS @ the DCU Center 11/22-09
lots of familiar faces littered the Admirals' lineup. former, for the moment (5 games in '07/'08 season fresh out of juniors), Worcester defenseman Ty Wishart(6) was dished to Tampa Bay a couple of summers ago for San Jose to pick up Dan Boyle from the Lightning. he's definitely filled out a bunch since he was here and plays a lot smarter with the puck.
former Providence/Boston Bruins defenseman Matt Lashoff(21) finds himself assigned to Norfolk so far this season.
same goes for his trade partner in the deal that brought Mark Recchi to Boston, Martins Karsums(15) has yet to skate with the Lightning this season.
and of course, Brandon Bochenski(27), the second top goal scorer in the AHL this season, and quite possibly one of the dumbest trades in Bruins' recent history, giving up Kris Versteeg to Chicago for him in '07.
for the Sharks it was a game where the new guys and role players chipped in to beat the run of talent in the Admirals' pool 3-2. Forward John McCarthy(7) was one of those guys, knocking in his 2nd of the season to open the game scoring.
Sharks' goalie Alex Stalock(32) is looking like the top rookie goaltender he showed signs of being early in the season and notched his 8th win (6 losses) of the season.
Sharks' defenseman Joe Callahan(26), who was called-up to San Jose again recently, takes a shot off his lower leg late in the game.
Admirals' tempers flare late as they start to feel the game slip away into the loss column.
in the end it's the Sharks' players out to congratulate goalie Alex Stalock(32) on the win. Cory Quirk(11) on the left was one of the role players to score his first goal in a Worcester uniform.
me and Alex Stalock(32) at the post-game skate. hey buddy, nice win!
