shree's travels across the globe last took him to vienna, austria where he spent most of his days spreading mad desi vibes at the united nations.
a passion for opening new ears to the harder side of the asian massive/underground led him to man the decks at numerous venues across the downbeat hub of europe, opening for the likes of dj ritu, pathaan, mukul, equal-i and cheb i sabbah.
for over two years, he co-hosted a monthly webradio show on play fm (http://www.play.fm) called "e.cube - eastern electronica experience" that was broadcast live from a studio inside vienna's famed museums quartier complex and could be heard around the world.
he also dropped a closing set at the first ever indian electronica festival that took place in london in august 2006. other acts sharing the stage and decks were :: abdul smooth, bandish projekt, bobby friction, d-code (shiva soundsystem), dr. das (ex-adf) fusing naked beats, eagle-i, janaka selekta (dhamaal soundsystem), nerm (shiva soundsystem), nuphlo, omnesia, prithpal sirjeet, sonik gurus, visionary underground and yam boy (d'archetypes).
shree has no idea why electronic dance music makes so much sense to him but he thinks that nicking his older brother's depeche mode, human league and new order records as a kid had something to do with it.
as part of the ethnotechno (http://www.ethnotechno.com) crew, he joins in dimmSummer's quest to make ET the best site for left-field, asian-tinged electronica.
now that his european stint is complete, he's recently relocated to new york city in the hopes of continuing his career in the non-profit world. since being back, he has taken up residency, alongside dimm and dk bollygirl, at the local avaaz :: bpm nights (http://www.avaaznyc.com).
shree's sets - which tend to veer from minimal techno and glitchy electronica to idm and breaks-heavy south asian electronica - often serve as a barometer for what's hot and current in dance music.
