Shrimp! Don’t let the name of this tiny crustaceus creature fool you. In fact, the band Shrimp has been riding a formidable wave of epic proportions since 2006, blending a unique form of musical expression, sometimes described as Gonzo Metal. Spastic bursts of experimental energy collide in an array of sounds calling back to psychedelic prog rockers and mystical metal, beer battered and splattered with just the right amount of heaviness to make your granny regurgitate her seafood platter. Joined by a desire to make music interesting again, Shrimp dares to defend artistic integrity. Yes, in a time of creative mediocrity and constant boy band angst, Shrimp has arrived to fire up your synapses and prove to the world that music can be more than just a fashion show.
Emerging from the depths of Southern California, Shrimp developed their unique sound, and began performing at venues all over the western coast. Armed with their debut EP “Gonzo Fishing Trip!” (Originology Records), they quickly grabbed the attention of people all over the world and developed an army of dedicated fans. With plans to release their first full length album “Aquatic Chaotic” and embark on a U.S. tour during Spring 2009, you are officially put on notice to make sure you catch this group of crustaceus cohorts at a venue near you!
