Each of us in the band now has played with different bands an musicians at different times, and the band itself has had a lot of different musicians, but here is the story:
Christoffer started with bands at age 17 in 2000 with blackmetalband from Abildsø called "ICE", he played her for about a year with only two show and one song at each(one school show, and one UKM)! he then moved on to Nu-deathmetal band called "DEAD-SET"(now "JAYEMA") for a half year in 2003 and practised in Siggerud outside Ski, but no show played, also during this period Magne had a kind of hardcore-project in fredrikstad called "COBRA" going on for a while.
After yet another short unamed industrialmetal project in Drøbak, Christoffer got early in 2004 contact with a band from Manglerud,Oslo called "DUTY" whom played punk/hardrock, and with this got a kind of breaktrough he needed!!! with this band he got to play about 20-25shows around oslo/akershus, and also got recording experience. at the end of this band period (mid2004-mid2006) he also practiced with symphonic blackmetalband at Ammerud called "AMBARUD" (now STEINBITT) wich produced/mixed with some other bands: (Daniel at "UNSPOKEN", Andre & Tor Ivar at "STEINBITT" and other unnamed project)
In 2006 both these Projects got finished for different reasons, so Christoffer had to find other bands, and did during to the end of 2006 practise with these bands for about 2-4months each: "Y3F" progrock/metal, "BURN" progressive trash/death, and "THORNBOUND" death metal. Magne had with ex-member Kim played in "BOMBARDOS" a band playing mostly covers from "jokke and valentiners, motorhead etc" for a while during 2005-2006 over a year period, but Magne wanted a more serious band.
So in the summer of 2007 after finishing grades as welder/ironworker Christoffer moved to Fredrikstad and got contact with Magne and knowing both where serious about playing in band "SHRINE OF HAUNTED" was born....! we started from the very scratch with no equipment but a practiseplace with equipment at St.croix. At the first we practise with a Swedish dude called Henrik Petterson whom had played in different bands trough Sweden, Norway, and Usa, and we also did manage to get a guitarist from Råde at some of these practises, buth after 6-7repeats we figured that music-connection was not there.
After triyng out a few more not good musicians Magne came up with the idea of trying out his old bandmember Kim from "BOMBARDOS" and we got this little break we needed and starting working on songs like "shadow" and "the ugly". Our band has suffered many dumb things, and the first one was Kim leaving the band after 3months in december 2007, right before we moved to new location at Seut. This should be proven to be something nice instead because in came our present guitarist Henning, a 20year old dude from kråkerøy who had practise a lot at St.croix, and have some concerts. 3 was about to be 4 just right after when bassist Arne (whom had connections with HIDEOUS DEFORMITY) joined the group and now things where going int he right direction at the beginning of 2008, with new good core members, new practise place, and own equipments.
This version of the band where called "DEGENERATED" an early version of "SHRINE OF HAUNTED" you can say, and we good for a strong 6-7months aslo trying a second guitarist called Vegard for a short while. We practised alot, and coninued to write songs and when we in summer 2008 where ready to record our "Shadow.EP" demo, disaster strike again...., Arne quitted and Henning had to record the basslines as well. at that time we needed a new name since "DEGENERÀTED was Arnes idea, so after discussions and so we came up with "SHRINE OF HAUNTED" and start the search for a new bassplayer....(something that should be proven to be difficult).
Months passing by...., and we are triyng out some guitarplayers, and some Bassplayers without any luck at all, before we got contact with Jørgen february 2009, a 20year old from kråkerøy, and after practising with him for about a month we found out he was the right thing for us. we have also got in a second guitarist named Magnus "trashy military" dude (from twomanband called ASSULT) in may 2009. as usually we where unlucky as months passed by Magnus did not have time for us because of family we had to let him go...
SHRINE OF HAUNTED now a 4pieceband continued and recorded a new 6-trackdemo in a week during the summer. now things where going good and we finally started to play concerts... well not that good, in september after a couple of gigs we had to fire our guitarist for a long time Henning due personal problems beetween him and the rest. it didnt take long at all to find a new one, a cool dude name Anders, and with him we also called up our previous bassist Arne to join back, making Jørgen our rytmguitarist, something that fitted him bettter! we are stil trying!!!!!
