ÞŠýçµëÐê£ÏÇ Satori ॐ is a visionary, primitive soul in a miscomprehending world. Art is my only medium for communication to a distant audience. I am both blessed, and cursed. Posted at 4:58 AM Dec 10 view more
Welcome to my dream, my name isSlang, or Julie if you prefer.
I was born botanical
the soul of an animal
deep beneath the layers, I sink my roots
no need for mechanical
I come strictly organical...
I am a creature of creation.
My hands and my words are my tools, I strive to express who I am and what I believe through every artistic outlet I get into. Being an artist, I treat my body as a canvas and live as an art form. I've never been one to conform, and I have a problem with boundries. I don't dress like everyone else, in fact I make it a point to stand out from the crowd and express the individual that I am - I consider imitation a form of suicide.
I have a small family and an autistic younger brother.
I'm a spiritual atheist, an ultra liberal, a Burner, and a dreamer.
Art is my life. I am a freelance artist and I work in a lot of different areas; Web design, traditional art, murals, digital art, sculpture, jewelry, fashion/textile, fiber art... I'd also like to add glass blowing, woodburning, knitting/crocheting, and whatever else may happen to intrigue me to that list eventually as well.
Tripout Designs is my website, under which I run my little artisan business and exhibit my artwork and crafts. I also have a separate myspace made for Tripout, you can find it on my top friends or just click here (Add it!). I started Tripout Designs late 2006 if I remember correctly, and it's been growing ever since :] If you enjoy what I do, please consider giving a little support by putting me/Tripout as a top friend, putting a banner on your profile or site, or by showing other people! I really appreciate it, as I have a lot in store for the name.
No 9-5 job for me, no cubicles, no limitations. I'm on this earth to live, not make a living, and that is what I plan on doing. And what you should too. You only get one life, do what makes you happy - because that's what life is about. Happiness.
Hey, are you a dreamer?
Yeah...
I haven't seen too many around lately. Things have been tough lately for dreamers.
They say dreaming is dead, no one does it anymore. It's not dead it's just that it's been forgotten, removed from our language. Nobody teaches it so nobody knows it exists. The dreamer is banished to obscurity. Well, I'm trying to change all that, and I hope you are too. By dreaming, every day. Dreaming with our hands and dreaming with our minds. Our planet is facing the greatest problems it's ever faced, ever. So whatever you do, don't be bored, this is absolutely the most exciting time we could have possibly hoped to be alive.
And things are just starting.
Live and let live. I have an intense compassion for all life, down to every last tiny creature - life is precious, whether it be a gnat or a human.
Being afraid of something doesn't give you the right to kill it. In fact, nothing gives you the right to take the life of any sentient being - just as no one has the right to take yours. Speciesism is an ugly trait. We are not the only beings with souls
"The world is but a canvas to the imagination."
-Henry David Thoreau

I've got my own life to live;
I'm the one that's got to die when its time for me to die, So let me live my life... the way I want to.
..Inspired..
Entheogens.
These ancient transcendental instruments has been used in countless cultures for a variety of reasons for as long as we can date back into history.
Physical manisfestations of the collective consciousness we are all a part of, they act as little tools to provide keys to the locked doors of our own psyche. Their spiritual, intellectual, and curative use being of utmost importance.
Abuse is disrespectful, and is what has marred the name of these substances in 'modern' society. Psychedelics have made an immense impact on much of who I am and what I believe.
"Psychedelics are probably responsible for every aspect of human evolution apart from the decline in bodyhair."
-Terence McKenna
Too many people remain ignorant toward them. I cannot stress enough to people that they need to stop believing all they hear, and start searching for answers themselves.
Psychedelics may not be your thing, and that's cool, but demonizing them based on lies is wrong; A lot of the information broadcasted on TV and in schools is a load of shit.
AboveTheInfluence, DARE, etc. Don't buy into their propaganda, don't become a sheep in their herd.
THE DRUG WAR IS A MASSIVE FAILURE. 'DARE' to end the war on drugs!
Culture.
I'm infatuated with the world's cultures... that includes subcultures.
From the practitioners of Haitian Vodoo to the tribal people of Africa to the markets of India to the punks of Britain to the graffiti artists of LA to the Harajukus of Japan.
I think I identify more with other cultures than I do my own. Which is perfectly okay! If anyone ever tells you you can't like something or be something because you're not a specific nationality, or have a certain skin color: Fuck them! Be who you are!
One of the things I hope to do in this one beautiful life is to travel. I want to travel all over the world and visit the people and the places it has to offer. I want to join a true ayahuasca ceremony in the Amazon, chat with a Sadhu in India, sit atop an ancient Mayan temple at twilight.
I want to document my journey with photographs of all the different faces; I love people. I love how different and beautiful and amazing people are! How their styles reflect their personality and their culture and their life.
I love the way people present themselves with their clothes, their jewelry, their hair, their tattoos, their shoes - everything! I'd like to collect hundreds of portraits of all different sorts of people over a few years and publish them. Maybe one day you'll see my book =]
And I love people who express themselves. The more out there they are, the more I like them.
I dislike, however, people that succumb to trends, care about brand name clothes, and idolize celebrities.
Spirituality. I am not bound by any one religion. I am a mutt of beliefs.
I believe in Animism, which is the belief that all natural things possess souls. I've derived many of my ideas and attitudes from a variety of cultures, practices, and entheogens... but largely from just what I personally feel is right.
You don't have to stick to one religion, pick out the things you agree with. Don't limit your mind.
I don't live for any god - I live for myself.
I believe in the power of the psyche, the power of energy and thought.
Art, music, love, laughter, plants, flowers, bugs, water, fire, dance - Life is my 'religion'.
Fuck dogmas, fuck omnipotent beings - I'm free.
Free to live the way I choose, free to think for myself. To put it bluntly, I don't believe in 'god'.
I describe myself as an atheist to those that ask, but I say atheist only in the sense that I believe in NO GOD. There is no heavenly hierarchy, I firmly believe equality stretches over into the ethereal realm as well as this one. No one dictates what you do in life besides yourself, you are your own god.
You are not better than me, I am not better than you... You are not better than animals, you are not better than or inferior to a black person, a white person, a mexican person, asian, indian, muslim, christian, atheist, german, russian, iraqi, japanese, chinese, crippled, blonde, autistic, woman, man, transvestite, hermaphrodite, gay, lesbian, single mother, dead beat dad, orphan, heroin addict, pot smoker, gangster, liberal, conservative, homeless, wealthy...
You are not better than the dirt beneath your feet. We are all one, we are all equal, and we are all in this together!

Religion breeds hate, conformity, and blind loyalty.
"My religion is very simple - kindness is my religion."
- Dalai Lama
WAKE UP! Think for yourself, Find yourself, Know yourself -- Question your Elders & Holy Books.
You can believe in a god if you want, but don't do it simply because you grew up with it or because you're told to, or worse - because you fear what may become of you if you don't.
Ideals. Your body is a temple, it houses your soul. What you do to yourself, what you consume, what you think... it effects your being. Treat your mind and body with respect, for they are sacred.
What does this mean? It means you need to give up junk food, soda, excess sugar and fat. Put down the ho-hos and diet cola, avoid the tyrant Mc'Donalds, and find a suiting gift for your system: fresh fruits, raw vegetables, crisp greens, golden olive oil, whole grains and cool water.
If you consume crap, you will feel like crap. Make the connection! Ditch the junk food and respect the body that will carry you your entire earthly life. Change your diet, refresh your being.
End the violence. Quit consuming flesh, practice non-violence and be at peace with the natural world. Eating violently slaughtered and tortured meat and by-products simply ruins the sanctity and peace of your temple. Violence is hatred, leave the hatred out of your soul.
Think positively. Do not dwell on negative things or situations, you will only bring that energy into your temple. Everything you perceive as 'bad' can be better if you don't let it get to you, if you turn it around, look at the bright side, and put yourself into action; do something to change that negativity. It's never too late to start the day over.
Aknowledge, and move on. There's no reason to beat yourself up over things. It's not that simple? Try it.
Bad things will only get heavier and heavier the more you dwell and dwell...
Only when you begin to love yourself, can you love others. Only when you begin to treat yourself with respect, eat well, and think well.. will you feel well. Your body is a temple... Bring to it offerings of health, peace, and knowledge, and your soul will reap the benefits.
“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.
Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.
Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations.
But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is
conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.” -Buddha

"Beauty is before me,
And beauty is behind me.
Above and below me hovers the beautiful.
I am surrounded by it.
I am immersed in it.
In my youth I am aware of it,
And in old age I shall walk quietly
The beautiful trail."
