Influences
We are all influenced by many musical artist, and they vary between us. Some would include death cab for cutie, chiodos, nirvana, marcy playground, coheed and cambria, bob marly, dragonforce, modest mouse, i killed the prom queen, mozart, all that remains and scary kids scary kids. The main source for the music is the people in our lives: friends, family and lovers.
Shuck Zebra is a small band from Rochester, NY. It was started several years ago by Bill Easton and Ian Kerr in a small basement. The band wasn't serious for quite a while, even after the others joined, but with a show they were completely unprepared for around the corner, they got serious. Since that first show, Shuck Zebra has evolved into so much more.
Now the band consists of Josh Ellis, Bill Easton, Ian Kerr and Dave Pierce. They do not have specific roles for each band member, you may see them on stage switching instruments constantly, even in the middle of a song! This allows for more variety in their music, because they all have a different style of playing.
It's difficult to pin Shuck Zebra to any specific genre. You may hear metal techniques used in acoustic songs. You may hear acoustic chord strumming in metal songs. Shuck Zebra is experimentalist, but they are no slave to the genre. Expect to see a lot of variation in their music. Expect hard rock and deep angst, to acoustic songs from the heart, to screeching metal solos. Shuck Zebra has a future, and they hope you're here to see it the entire way.
