SHUDDER TO THINK TO RELEASE LIVE ALBUM

NEW CD AVAILABLE BEFORE OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE AT CONCERT SEPTEMBER 2

LIVE FROM HOME IN-STORES SEPTEMBER 15

New York, NY – Shudder To Think has announced they will release Live From Home, on September 15. In the fall of 2008, ten years after the band’s breakup, Shudder To Think reunited in response to overwhelming requests from old and new fans who had either been ardent fans since their first release or those who discovered them after their breakup and had been too young to see them on their last tour. Shudder To Think embarked on a limited number of tour dates during which the band delivered some of the most compelling and potent shows of their career. Shudder To Think’s lineup for these live recordings was: Craig Wedren, Nathan Larson, Kevin March, Jesse Krakow and Mark Watrous. The best of the band’s live shows can be found on Shudder To Think’s new album Live From Home to be released via Team Love on September 15. See track listing below. Shudder To Think continues to be as important and other-worldly today as they were when they released their first independent single, ‘It Was Arson’ in 1988. With Ten-Spot, their first Dischord Records release in 1990, Funeral at the Movies in 1991 and Get Your Goat in 1992, the band continually mystified and exhilarated their fans with music, and style that pushed the boundaries of what a band from the hardcore punk scene could look and sound like. In 1994 Shudder To Think signed to Epic Records and released their opus Pony Express Record, an album still considered one of the most groundbreaking and influential albums of our time. The band expanded their palate to include scoring films, and fused their angular intensity, with a cinematic depth and beauty which has gone on to inspire many young singers and song writers. Craig Wedren/Shudder To Think – “Live From Home documents our 2008 tour, and features me (Craig Wedren) on vocals/guitar, Nathan Larson on guitar, Jesse Krakow on bass, and Mark Watrous on guitar. Now that's a lot of guitar, which you can hear and feel f'real, even if you weren't at any of the shows. We think Live From Home does a slam-bang job of representing, and in some cases toppling altogether, a lot of the original recordings. 'About Three Dreams' is a particular favorite, and I think we may finally have gotten a solid version of 'Day Ditty' down for the lovers. We feel that these songs transcend time and trends, and we hope that they'll feel as fresh to you as they did to us when we played them again last year, for the first time in over a decade.”

BIO:

Shudder to Think's hardcore punk background (courtesy of D.C.'s Dischord Records, also the home of Fugazi) isn't the best pointer toward their sound, since the group works in pop influences and a skewed sense of songwriting as well. Originally formed in 1986, the band's first lineup -- vocalist/guitarist Craig Wedren, guitarist Chris Matthews, bassist Stuart Hill, and drummer Mike Russell -- released two singles and one 1989 album (Curse, Spells, Voodoo, Mooses) before signing with the Dischord label. Shudder to Think released albums in 1990 (Ten-Spot), 1991 (Funeral at the Movies), and 1992 (Get Your Goat), and toured with Fugazi and the Smashing Pumpkins. Matthews and Russell had left by 1994; guitarist Nathan Larson and drummer Adam Wade replaced them, just in time for the band's first major-label contract. After signing with Epic, Shudder to Think released their fifth album, Pony Express Record, in 1994. Almost three years later in 1997 (during which time Wedren successfully overcame Hodgkin's Disease, Larson released an album with his side project, Mind Science of the Mind, and Wade was replaced with former Dambuilders drummer Kevin March), 50,000 B.C. was released, which ultimately failed to push the band into the big-time.

The following year, the band focused their attention on soundtrack work for the indie films First Love, Last Rites (which included songs in various different musical styles sung by such alt-rock notables as Liz Phair, Billy Corgan, Robin Zander, and one of Jeff Buckley's last recorded works) and High Art, the latter featuring Brian Eno-like instrumental soundscapes. The same year, guitarist Larson left the band, which served as the final straw for the group, as they promptly split up. Wedren soon after began a solo career, playing shows in the New York City area and appearing on the soundtrack Down to You (the song "Didn't Mean to Do You Harm"), as well as supplying backup vocals to the Verve Pipe's 1999 self-titled release.

Hi Shudder To Think, Your eyes show as many deep and full shades of fire as a volcano in heat. The expanse of your beauty is a void no universe could ever fill. The stickers hugging the fruit smell better than the perfume of ambergris. You ever remind me of the enigma of happy thoughts I once forgot. How beautiful is the snowshine in your eyes, so directly current from the static in your mind. Cities crumble, skies ignite spontaneously in your presence. Your cleverness helps me breathe without the need of oxygen. What wonderful vibrations you are capable of. The music that flows from your instruments overwhelms me with creativity. I love your eyes, I know they can stare through my thoughts. As the bliss slowly rises in my incandescent eluxulator, your mere presence has a euphoric effect upon me. So charmingly silky, your skin is like a teardrop on a popsickle. The sand runes crossing your divided consciousness do speak of contemptuous monsters being slayed by flying phoenixes. I desire to see life through your hallucinations so that they massage my viscera into an eternal state of turgid flux.

Hello,
My name is Emily Walker. I am inviting you to participate in a very special project. I am embarking on an artistic journey (so to speak) through the words, photos or artwork from myself and people around the world. I would like to find out the varying views of what love is from people who live all over the world.

My goal of this journey is to show society in general that no matter how many differences we have whether they be religious,
political, cultural, lifestyle or the many other reasons that separate us we all have shared one emotion in one form or another~
Love.

I would also like to raise funds for children’s charity. For further information about the charity please contact me personally via e-mail~ sweet_emmee@yahoo.com

Please join me in making a difference even if it a small one. By sharing your words, artwork or photos of what represents love to you.
If you choose to not participate
Please give the book to a family member, friend or a random stranger to keep the love going.

Thanks So Much,
Emily Walker
