Music
love all music (except perhaps rnb) I especially like strange and beautiful experimentation. At the moment I'm enjoying (anti)folk revival, art rock, dubstep, and forget nu-rave, nu-classical's where it's at.
Recent buys: Microblind Harvestmen...
Recent good gigs: Exaudi Vocal Ensemble, Hawk and a Hacksaw.
This is what lastfm have logged as my last ipod listens:
Movies
Are cool. Don't do Hollywood very much, but enjoy it in small doses. Mostly watch shorts indie & world cinema in theatres.
Television
I like history documentaries. I also like music shows, but they are few and far between. I loathe reality tv, lifestyle makeover shows and how television advertising shouts at me.
Books
Don't read enough of them. Currently reading Julian Barnes.
About me:
I work at the University of Westminster where I also co-present (with Zoheir) Shuffle - a show on our internet radio station Smoke Radio
The show plays out live in term time, on Thursdays 8-9pm (UK local time).
Shuffle's an eclectic and eccentric selection of new and old tunes, loosely based around wierd and wonderful themes. Past themes have been - 'music with bells', 'track 7', 'albums with black spines', 'music to dump someone with', '4 mins and 33 seconds'.
Within these themes we select lesser-heard indie, hip hop, jazz, soundtrack, pop, contemporary classical and sound art, whatever arrests our ears really. If you want to expand your musical horizons, perhaps you'll give us a listen.
We've lost most our playlists, but from now on they'll appear in my blog...
hey adam thank you for the add!!!
would love to find out more about your show and what your up too...
come along to guerrilla zoo on sat 19th may, south london... need some support!!! many thanks, james
You dress like a superhero too!? I thought I was the only one!
Zo complained about my choice of song. Considering what he has up, he has no right to say a word! Silly boy... Have fun tonight going to Wimpy and drinking yourself stupid :-P
Zo told me that I'm needed for the show, he wants to do a videogames theme. I am still pondering as to whether to treat listeners to my voice again :-P Hope you're well!
hey. love the descriptions, i think we can say that you're a fully paid-up member of myspace now! loneliness should definately be the subject for next week's show. not only is desolation a better starting point than simply hate, but it means i can play a track from the new explosions in the sky album :)
see you then!
