Despite label interest the band have maintained their independence, developing at their own pace and in July 2005 they were rewarded for this when they won the Leftfield category at the prestigious Diesel-U-Music awards (previously won by the likes of Tom Vek and Mylo). The band were invited to perform in front of a packed audience of industry insiders with bands such as The Magic Numbers, Lady Sovereign, Blak Twang and El Presidente. Their performance was broadcasted on Channel 4. On the panel of judges was XFM's John Kennedy who rates the band amongst the finest new live acts he's ever seen. Since then they have recorded a live session with John Kennedy and been interviewed on his show.
Shuffle have played with The Noisettes, Charlotte Hatherley, XX Teens, Acoustic Ladyland, Morning Runner, Tom Vek, Jah Wobble, Late Of The Pier, Les Incompetants, The Mules and The Mighty Roars. Shuffle released their first single "My Friend's Girlfriend" with Tummy Touch which sold out in just 2 weeks. Their track "An Old Uprising" is also included in The Mighty Boosh Live DVD.
In 2007 they supported Charlotte Hatherley on her UK tour and released 2 singles: Whatsthatyougot? and Listen Love which got regular airplay with Nemone and Lemacq on 6Music, Rob Da Bank on Radio 1 and John Kennedy on XFM, as well as video plays on MTV2.
Last Summer saw Shuffle play for Lost Vagueness in The Chapel (all 3 nights) at Glastonbury and Electric Picnic in Ireland as well as playing Secret Garden Party, Standon Calling, Moor and Loop festivals.
THEIR DEBUT ALBUM WILL BE RELEASED LATER IN 2008.
**RECENT PRESS**
"Cool band, Shuffle" ROB DA BANK (HUW STEPHENS SHOW), RADIO 1
"A glorious mess of undefinable music" DISORDER
"This is such a great record!" STEVE LAMACQ, 6MUSIC
"Live, they are a sight to behold" NEMONE, 6 MUSIC
"One of the most matchless bands in the country, the crossover band of next year if not this. Live, they’re so exciting you can’t even find the time to have a sip of your drink while urgently scanning the stage trying to speculate what’s coming next." www.rockfeedback.com
“This single’s been a long time coming, but its finally here and as a timeless piece of quirky dance pop, it doesn’t matter whether you’ve already known it for a year or just heard it for the first time today. Brilliant live, Shuffle definitely deserve the success of fellow Diesel-U-Music “Leftfield” award winners Mylo and Tom Vek.”
JOHN KENNEDY, XFM - MUSIC WEEK
"Shuffle have been building a solid reputation over the last year, winning Xfm's unsigned band of the month and the Diesel-U-Music awards. The reason is clear on first listen: this is fresh, different and a welcome relief from many of the current plank spankers demanding attention."
SINGLES REVIEWS - MUSIC WEEK
"We're dying to hear what this alchemical sextet has to offer next. So far we're impressed." RECORD COLLECTOR
"....(Charlotte) Hatherley has proved that there is definately life after big bands. Support act Shuffle are well worth getting to the venue early for...having been touted by just about every radio station functioning - could they outshine the headliner? Possible." CAMDEN NEW JOURNAL
"Shuffle may also herald the birth of a new genre - Retro-Burlesque-Sci-Fi-Hip-Rock-Jazz. Complimenting the guitar-vox-bass-drums basic line up are two DJs and a girl whose principle job appears to be looking cool in a yellow dress; that is until the fourth song in, when suddenly she unleashes her considerable vocal talent like she’s been waiting all her life to do so." www.new-noise.net
"Their sound is difficult to pin down as they delight in unselfconsciously mixing up genres. A testament to the quality of the talent out there in the UK at the moment"
CLASH
“The synth and small girl disappeared. Instead, members of what looked like a gentlemans club replaced her. Mixing hip-hop scratching, electro synths and bleepy noises, with good old post-punk riffs, shuffle were an exceedingly tight band and had the crowd slavering over them for more. After Six songs of modern heartache and lust, the handlebar-moustached singer chatted to a fulfilled crowd"
ARTROCKER
"Forget about a bunch of blokes predicting a riot, this is the future"
LOUD & QUIET
"Welcome to Music's next big things..Shuffle..Watch this space"
MUSIC WEEK
"Could be the next big thing" CLASH
"They have an innate ability to write really catchy pop songs"
JOHN KENNEDY, XFM
"Quite fantastic!" CLAIRE STURGESS, XFM

In my opinion these guys are destined for greatness, it felt like I was witnessing history being shaped-something was just so right about what they were doing up there.” Vibe Bar
