Friday 11th May 07 - 8PM GMT
So what were you doing on Friday 8th May 2007 at 8PM GMT, here’s a little movie using the fantastic JumpCut, the video features just some of the fantastic pictures submitted by Happy Clickers all around the world. Check out the Gallery now, yes right now! Special thanks just to name a few; the lovely people who submitted their pictures at the ShutterClock Flickr Group, the endless amounts of people who mentioned it on their blog Official Flickr Blog, Photojojo Uncut, Kris Johnson's Blog, Pixelated Imagination, Mike's Musings just to name a few, the lovely people at the Irish News who posted an article on the event. Thank you all and remember most likely when you are taking a photo there is someone else taking one too! What is ShutterClockWhen was the last time you used your camera? For most people that’s not a hard question to answer. The last time you clicked your camera button, did you ever wonder that somebody, somewhere was clicking their camera button at the same time? That’s the idea of ShutterClockWe want people to come together as a simple community divided only by distance to globally capture their world at an organised time. In return we will see galleries of images from all over the world, taken at the same moment but from their point of view. Check out ShutterClock.com mmmmh I’m still not sure how this works?Well ShutterClock organises a countdown to a specific time for participants to photograph. Everyone takes their picture and uploads the results to the gallery. For example ShutterClock sets the countdown to 4PM Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). This means that in London while its 4PM it will be 9AM in Los Angeles and 3AM the next day in Sydney. So what you just want me to take a picture of whatever I’m at?Yep that’s it, whenever the countdown reaches zero, take a photo and submit it to the website. It’s that simple! Soon you’ll be able to see images from your peers from all around the world and what they where doing when you took your picture. How can I be involved?Well things are still being setup but at the moment you can join the mailing list to receive the newsletter when events are starting to countdown. Check out ShutterClock.com Here is where you leave a comment
