On top of all depletion of wheat & rice and so on, ethanol is a horrible choice. It is costly to make and inefficient. Yes, I think it is time to seek alternative methods of transportation.
I love ancient temples etc (especially Buddhist, thus my visit to Angkor) so all the sacred Mayan and Aztec places are on my long term agenda, plus Machu Pichu!
