Let them entertain you…let them make you smile…hear the love! Popular for their strong acoustic roots and melodic harmonies shines the brother and sister duo, Justin and Alina. Together, combining their special talent brings a novelty performance to the stage known to many as "Sibling Rivalry." Justin (age 16) and Alina (age 13) have been performing and writing original songs at the early age of 9 years old. Their music has best been described as an acoustic driven rock/pop tune with infectious hooks which deliver inspiring messages that take people of all ages down the journey of life.
Lyrically driven and melodically focused Justin is a singer-songwriter on the rise. He writes from the simplicity of his faith in God to the complexity of losing a loved one. As a young versatile songwriter whose perspective on life is far beyond his years, he writes from the heart, not to satisfy a specific genre, but to satisfy those who take his music for what it is… honest, pure, and genuine. Together with his sister who also sings lead vocals, they are featured demonstrating their talents in their first released demo ever; this features Alina’s first written song entitled “Anyone But Me” as well. They both have experience in vocal training. Justin plays guitar and piano and Alina plays drums/percussion and is currently studying piano. They also enjoy acting; always landing leads in their school plays, and the ensemble members in Community Theatre, Justin and Alina also aspire to be actors.
Emerging from NJ, known for the home of Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi, Justin and Alina have been inspired by these icons and love to perform their songs, including their signature cover song by Bon Jovi/Jennifer Nettles, "Who Say's You Can't Go Home."
Due to their strong faith in God, they perform every Sunday at their teen mass and because Justin and Alina have also been inspired by Christian artists, they have written their own Christian original songs about the goodness of living life through the likes of God. With a lot of faith, and adding some courage of their own, Justin and Alina are hoping to become successful in the music business to share their talents with the world.
Sibling Rivalry is at its best when performing in front of a live audience. Whether it’s at the legendary Stone Pony, or at a coffee shop, Justin and Alina just love to perform. The journey began when Justin, at age 9, became the lead singer/guitar player for a young band called “The Punks” that was formed by the son of the lead singer Jim Garcia A.K.A. “Spaz” from New Jersey’s premiere cover band “THE NERDS.” Jim took the young band under his wing and soon after discovering Alina’s talent for singing, he had her sing “Proud Mary” and “I Will Survive” with “THE NERDS”; she also currently performs with Justin and “The Punks” opening up for their outdoor summer venues, which has become a part of their summer routine. Jim Garcia said of Justin and Alina, “I think they are a remarkable talent. I’ve known Justin for so long and I knew he was talented from the start. I’ve only lately come to hear Alina, and her pipes are fantastic, and I think they both have a great future ahead of them.”
But throughout all of their experiences one of their most memorable and sentimental performances was at the American Cancer Society’s RELAY FOR LIFE. Justin and Alina had the privilege of performing their original song “Gone From Me” at the Lighting Ceremony, in dedication of all the ones who lost the battle to cancer. “Gone From Me” was written in memory of their two aunts who passed away from cancer, which was a way of letting them know they were not forgotten. The song speaks of the feelings of losing someone, but also the promise you have to make to go on with life no matter what happens. At the ceremony there were over one thousand people in the audience while Justin and Alina performed their original song. “It was such an amazing feeling to perform a song while sharing the same feelings of missing someone with a crowd so huge,” said Justin. “It was so emotional I almost started to cry, but I knew I had to contain myself,“ said Alina. Other venues Justin and Alina perform at include local venues, private parties, benefits, county fairs, festivals, televised telethon for Diabetes at the Tropicana in Atlantic City, and countless school events.
