“(Campfire Classics) kicks off with some spaghetti-western guitar — introducing another of the band’s musical reference points — before exploding into the souped-up pop of Coupe de Grace (complete with delicious la-la-las) and the 1970s Beach Boys sound of Desperados, with honky-tonk piano, gloriously inappropriate fuzz guitar and a gorgeous, yearning chorus: “This feeling — will it ever let me go?”
Sunday times (cd of the week)
“...an ultra-melodic Crazy Horse, an appealing blend of bubblegum and country... Lively and lovely..”
The Guardian
“Sibrydion splice their genres with wit and gay abandon, mixing grunge with Spanish classical guitar, spaghetti western themes with Elton-like honky-tonk, klezmer with Roy Orbinson-style romance, then lightly frying the lot..”
- Time Out Magazine
“Campfire Classics opening one-two of God Forgives, I Don’t and Coupe de Grace hits us with a spaghetti western intro by the way of The Coral, and fuzzed up, Theramin pop-psych that screams early Super Furry Animals, right down to the slightly gruffer Gruff Rhys vocals.
-Record Collector
“a peach of a record...the brothers decidedly gifted when it comes to strong tunes and neat arrangements..”
The Word
“this is an album that couldn't be more radio friendly if it came with its own FM frequency”
London Lite
“...the band have produced an album filled with enjoyable sing-alongs!”4/5
The Sun
"this mob cherry-pick the best that pop can offer. There are wonderfull tex-mex spaghetti western moments like God Forgives, I Don't, the Simon and Garfunkel strum of Violent Light and the Arthur Lee-like Coupe De Grace amongst a treasure trove"

Y Gwir, Yr Holl Wir, a Dim Byd Ond Y Gwir.
Ar ol treulio'r blynyddoedd diwethaf yn hyrwyddo eu cynnyrch Cymraeg, mae'r Sibrydion yn barod i ryddhau eu LP gyntaf yn Saesneg.
Enw'r albwm fydd "Campfire Classics" sydd yn adlewyrchu diddordeb a dylanwad y band am bopeth am y gorllewin gwyllt.
Wedi ei recordio yn Stiwdio Nen, ai gymysgu gan Cian Ciaran o'r Super Furry Animals , mae'r albwm yn llawn storiau am fradychu, cariad, anobaith, ac atgyfodi.
Yn y bon, mae "Campfire Classics" yn albwm pop, ond ychydig yn wahanol i'r arfer. Mae'n dechrau gyda trac offerynnol "God Forgives, I Don’t", ac yn carlamu'n syth i "Coupe De Grace", sef stori am sut mae cariad a thwyll yn gallu torri calon dyn.
Mae 13 trac arni sy'n cynnwys "Desperados", "Violent Light" , a "Praying For Rain" ( teitl wedi ei gymeryd o araith y Pab yn Haf poeth 2003) . Cafodd Mei ei ysbrydoli gan stori mewn papur newydd pan yn Buenos Aires, am ddawnswraig 'salsa' ifanc, a gymerodd bywyd ei hun. Mae ei henw yn cael ei ganu'n bwerus a thrydannol gan gor meibion ar y trac "Rosalynn".
Cerddorion eraill a berfformiodd ar yr albwm yw Mark Roberts ( Catatonia/ Y Ffyrc ) , Kev Tame ( Acid Casuals ) a Tom Jones ( na - dim Y Tom!) a gyfrannodd i'r cor ar "Rosalynn" a "Reprise".
Bydd "Campfire Classics" yn cael ei ryddhau ar Ionawr 19, 2009 ar recoriau Dell'Orso.

The Truth, The Whole Truth, And Nothing But The Truth.
Having spent the last couple of years building up a loyal following in Wales with their Welsh language albums, Sibrydion are set to release their debut 'English language' long player.
Though not fundamentally a concept LP, brothers Meilir and Osian Gwynedd have laced "Campfire Classics' with their 'Django folklore' that betrays their healthy love for the wild, wild west.
Produced by their friend Cian Ciaran from Super Furry Animals, Sibrydion have lassoed stories of Leone-inspired tales of betrayal and redemption whilst skimming a coin into Burt Bacharach's pool of bittersweet songwriting
Essentially, 'Campfire Classics' is a warped pop album. Opening with the Cinecitta inspired 'God Forgives, I Don't' (the title of a '67 Spaghetti Western) the band gallop into 'Coupe De Grace' a story of how love and betrayal can change a man's heart, that bolts out of it's swing doors faster than Klaus Kinski steaming to the bar after 17 years in his grave.
Other highlights include 'Desperados' about a lone ranger who loses his way in life though happily accompanied by joyous harmonies; 'Violent Light''s lush arrangement shadowing the score for Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid; the whiskey rush of 'Praying For Rain' (a title the Pope used for a speech in the hot summer of 2003 asking God for water from the skies). And 'Rosalynn' (my personal favourite) inspired by a tiny article Mei read whilst in Buenos Aires about a young Salsa dancer girl who'd taken her life. Her plight and name is heralded at the end of the song by a thundering male choir.
This is bright, dynamic and eccentric pop music and will be out in January 2009.
Background:
Meilir and Osian Gwynedd began their musical life in a band called Big Leaves who quickly became one of Wales' most popular groups thanks to their love for big harmonies on songs like 'Racing Birds' and 'Electro- Magnetic pollution'.
Both brothers have contributed to Super Furry Animals albums in the past and Osian most recently played drums on tour with Gruff Rhys' Candylion project
Guest musicians on Campfire Classics include Kev Tame from Acid Casuals, Mark Roberts from Catatonia and a Tom Jones (not that one thankfully) leading the male choir on 'Rosalynn' and 'Reprise'. Osh and Mei have also recently been recording and gigging with their friends in The Peth.
