    "The name Sickabell comes from a dream. I play my music to fight against the sound of bells". Sickabell is a project created by Giuliano Vernaschi. Giuliano is a thirty year old italian singer and songwriter from Chieti, a pre-roman town in central Italy. In 2008, he wrote his first songs in English taking inspiration from his experience as the lead singer in the Italian Coldplay tribute band, "The Scientist". These first songs led to the creation of Sickabell. The name Sickabell comes from a dream. It has a specific meaning: to be "sick" of religious dogma, symbolized by the word "bell". In 2010, after some live performances with friends, the hit "Sort of mess" won the Ourstage Indie Rock competition. That prize paved the way for the debut EP "Egghead": 30 minutes of original music, 7+1 home-made tracks recorded in a bedroom thanks to the help of skilled musicians and to the patience of neighbours! The EP which garnered excellent reviews and is now available on all of the best digital stores via Zimbalam.com. The time had come to return to live performances and to let people know what Sickabell is really about. That is why Giuliano chose three talented and experienced musicians from Rimini: Rino Cellucci (guitars) and Ivan Cellucci (bass) - guest stars in Egghead - and Marco Lupo, ambitious drummer and DJ. In April 2012, the band were the opening act at the "Aspettando il Primo Maggio" Festival as performing live before the most appreciated italian rock bands of the moment: Il Teatro degli Orrori, A Toys Orchestra and Zen Circus. The band is due to take part in two contests: the Promo Zimbalam Contest and the Tourmusicfest. Sickabell also won the "Saranno Calibri" competition promoted by Delta1 Radio, a major station in South Italy. The song "Motorbike rally" has been included in the Zimbalam Summer Songs playlist on Ovi Nokia Music Store. Giuliano has realized two videoclips with Focus Art staff for the songs "Sort of mess" and "3, 2, 1: lift off!", shot in some of the most beautiful locations in Italy and Norway. In 2012, "3, 2, 1: lift off!" was also broadcast twice on Mediaset's Italia2 channel. Giuliano is looking for a label and he is ready to move country to improve his career and that of his band. He particularly appreciates North American, British and Northern European productions, for example: Broken Bells, Doves, Kashmir, Dan Black, The Boxer Rebellion and similar. _________________ Italian biography: Il progetto Sickabell di Giuliano Vernaschi risale al 2008. L'allora ventiseienne cantautore teatino scriveva le sue prime composizioni ispirato dalle precedenti esperienze live con una cover band di stampo britannico. Gli inediti di Giuliano sono via via confluiti in "Sickabell", nome proveniente da un sogno ma con un significato preciso: il rifiuto (sick) verso dogmi e fanatismi religiosi, simboleggiati dalla parola "bell" (campana). Dopo una prima serie di concerti nel 2009 con una formazione abruzzese, il progetto ridiventa solista e nel 2011 viene pubblicato "Egghead", autoproduzione interamente registrata in camera da letto, con la pazienza dei vicini di casa e il supporto di musicisti navigati, tra cui Ivan Cellucci e Rino Cellucci che, insieme a Marco Lupo, compongono ora la nuova line up teatino-riminese dei Sickabell. L'EP è ora in vendita tramite piattaforma Zimbalam sui principali negozi digitali ed è stato lodevolmente recensito da testate locali e on line. Giuliano, in collaborazione con Focus Art, ha realizzato due videoclip per le canzoni "Sort of mess" e "3, 2, 1: lift off!", quest'ultimo premiato con un importante passaggio tv su Mediaset Italia 2. I video sono stati girati in suggestivi luoghi tra Abruzzo, Umbria e Norvegia. La band partecipa al Promo Contest Zimbalam ed è fresca vincitrice di "Saranno Calibri" su Radio Delta1, dove è in heavy rotation "Sort of mess". Gli ultimi appuntamenti live si sono tenuti nell'aprile 2012 al Satellite di Rimini e al festival "Aspettando il Primo Maggio" di Teramo, dove i Sickabell hanno aperto il concerto a Teatro degli Orrori, Nada, Zen Circus e A toys Orchestra.
