Paul Bardsley, Mark Patton & Ryan Hope joined by a whole host of guests.
Sounds Like
Paul Bardsley;
With a vast array of musical artillery at his disposal Paul Bardsley epitomizes the sound policy that will ensure his collaborative night Sick Days makes waves throughout Shoreditch. Delivering a wide range of electronic based sounds covering Acid Jazz, Trip-Hop and Electronica through to Nu-Disco, Minimal and Acid House, Bardsley’s record collection is one that has been cultivated from an early age and defined over recent years through a fundamental love of House music.
Having started his early career bemusing residents of Stockon with the wonders of Underground Techno, Paul worked his way around the club circuit gracing the decks at nights such as Goodgreef and *riffraff before moving to London to further establish his style. His musical journey southward also included two summers spent in Ibiza where gigs at Plastik, The Orange Corner, Hush, Kanya, Savannahs and Benimussa Zoo caught the attention of promoters from far and wide resulting in bookings in Switzerland and an appearance on American radio show LRCN.
Now with Sick Days and with and his own record label, The Disclosure Project, to keep himself busy, 2008 is proving to be yet another hedonistic and eventful yet productive year for Paul Bardsley.
Mark Patton;
Growing up frequenting legendary nights such as Tribal Sessions and Bugged Out has certainly influenced Mark Patton over the years and ensured his record box is as eclectic and cutting edge as they come. Covering Disco, Punk Funk, Electro, Fidget, Acid and Techno he purveys a sound any crate digger or trainspotter will appreciate.
As one half of Super Computer Mark spends time working on new productions creating a hybrid sound somewhere in between Nu-Disco and Techno. Aside from his production commitments he’s also no stranger to traveling the length and width of the country performing alongside DJs including Kissy Sell Out, Passions and Freeform Five as well as holding down residencies at Sick Days, Shut Up & Dance and Raised by Wolves.
Ryan Hope;
By day you can find Ryan Hope firmly plonked behind a video camera plying his trade as Assistant Director on music videos for artists ranging from The Klaxons to Massive Attack, Oasis and Dizzee Rascal. By night however, one passion is quickly replaced by another as he swaps an interest in visuals with an audio obsession that exudes a sharp-cut electronic sound.
With his musical tastes having evolved through time spent acquainting himself with the dance floors of pioneering Leeds House nights Back2basics and Technique, Ryan has always kept his finger on the pulse of the club scene. It is this dedication and love for the music that has seen him play alongside the likes of some of the most highly regarded Techno DJs of today including MANDY, Matthew Dear, Ryan Elliot and King Roc.
Now as Co-promoter and resident of Sick Days Ryan will definitely be making some noise and turning a few heads as he prepares to redefine the sound of a Sunday morning and ensure that we all become masters at the art of pulling a Monday morning fast one.
If Shoreditch can be described as a melting pot of musical tastes then its newest night Sick Days is a chip off the old block with an electronic slap in the face.
Preparing to push the boundaries of a rave off, this club night promises to stimulate the dance floor with a wide variation of grooves and bleeps ranging from trip-hop & nu disco through to electro house & techno.
Brought to you by three friends with a wealth of party experience Sick Days will be hosting a selection of guests ranging from contrasting genres, labels and general musical backgrounds to ensure a fresh and unique angle on nights out in East.
Get involved and more importantly get your Monday morning excuses at the ready because Sick Days is brought to you in the form of a party which caters for everybody feeling the need to pull one.
