MySpace a place for friends

The band Sickening was born in Firenze, Italy, during December 2003 with the intent of playing a classic death metal of a pure american breed. Within a month from its birth the band settles down with Alessandro and Andrea on guitars, Claudio on vocals, Marco on drums and Lorenzo on bass; the harmony between members and the will to play quickly lead to the creation of songs upon songs, to the point that the first live show is performed on May 2004. More songs and more concerts keep coming during the following months, till - during October of the same year - the band goes in the studio to record the first demo, "Deceptive truth". The disk, recorded at the "Underworld studio" of Filippo and Giacomo (Dysthymia members) in Colle Val d'Elsa, comes with four direct and brutal tracks; the recordings see the end only on March 2005 because of lack of time and for the departure of Lorenzo due to his getting away from the metal environment. Therefore, the bass parts have been recorded by Alessandro, while Dario will come forth to become a permament member only a month later, completing the line up. On September Marco left Sickening for work problems: drumming duties have been taken over by Beppe. On December of the same year the "Deceptive Truth" demo has been released by Eyes Of The Dead Productions as a splitCDR with Zora, a death metal band from Vibo Valentia. During November 2006 there is yet another line-up change: Marco (not to be mistaken with the homonymous guy of the very first Sickening line-up) takes Beppe's place on the drumset.
The first full-length album of the band, called "Ignorance supremacy", recorded and mixed between July and September 2007 by Lorenzo Bellia at "Play Loud!" in Florence and released March 22th 2008, is now available by Nice To Eat You Records and officially distributed by Sevared Records in the USA. On April 2009 Andrea left Sickening but the band will continue his activity playing live and writing new songs for the next album.

Il progetto Sickening nasce a Firenze nel dicembre 2003 con l'intento di suonare un death metal classico di stampo puramente americano. Entro un mese dalla nascita la formazione si stabilisce con Alessandro e Andrea alla chitarra, Claudio alla voce, Marco alla batteria e Lorenzo al basso; l'affiatamento tra i membri e la voglia di suonare portano a comporre brani su brani, al punto che la prima data dal vivo giunge già dal maggio 2004. Nuovi pezzi ed altri concerti arrivano nei mesi successivi, fino a che - ad ottobre dello stesso anno - la band entra in studio per registrare il primo demo, "Deceptive truth". Il lavoro, registrato nello "Underworld studio" di Filippo e Giacomo (membri dei Dysthymia) a Colle Val d'Elsa, presenta quattro tracce dirette e brutali; le registrazioni terminano solo nel marzo 2005 per mancanza di tempo e per la dipartita di Lorenzo dovuta ad un allontanamento dall'ambiente metal. Il basso viene dunque registrato da Alessandro, mentre Dario subentrerà come membro fisso solo un mese dopo per completare la line-up. A settembre Marco lascia i Sickening per problemi di lavoro: il suo posto alla batteria viene preso da Beppe. Nel Dicembre dello stesso anno il demo "Deceptive Truth" viene pubblicato dalla Eyes Of The Dead Productions come splitCDR con gli Zora, una band death metal di Vibo Valentia. Nel novembre 2006 l'ennesimo cambio in line-up: Marco (da non confondersi con l'omonimo batterista della formazione iniziale) prende il posto di Beppe dietro alle pelli.
Il primo full-length della band, "Ignorance supremacy", registrato tra luglio e settembre 2007 da Lorenzo Bellia alla "Play Loud!" di Firenze e uscito il 22 marzo 2008, è ora disponibile sotto la Nice To Eat You Records, e ufficialmente distribuito dalla Sevared Records negli Stati Uniti. Nell'aprile 2009 Andrea lascia i Sickening ma la band continuerà la sua attività suonando dal vivo e scrivendo nuovi pezzi per il prossimo album.
