Side Efx is one of the featured student run Extensions shifts on Public Radio WVRU Radford, a service of Radford University 89.9 FM. Sid Efx is on the air every Tuesday night at 11:00 PM and will also air on some Wednesday nights.
The talent on the show is headed up by DJ/Producer Travis "T Rex" Ponton, a junior Media Studies major at Radford University. Ponton is currently a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity at Radford, and is also a former college basketball player. He has extensive background in news paper writing (including the Richmond Times Dispatch) and radio (interned for a show at 98.9 Liberty in Richmond, WVRU's legendary Hood Metal Show), as well as experience in the field of modeling. Ponton's goal is to get his Undergraduate Degree in Media Studies from Radford University this spring, his junior year, and continue his education and basketball career as a graduate student athlete next fall. His dream job is to one day be on air talent for World Wrestling Entertainment. Travis can be reached at www.myspace.com/facelessman, on facebook, or email tponton@radford.edu.
Tommy "Silent But Deadly" Edwards is a co-writer/assistant DJ on Side Efx, and is also a member of the Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity at Radford University. Edwards is a very capable musician, but switched his major to Marketing for this year. This is Edwards first big extensions show, and he's looking forward to the challenge. He can be heard on Wednesdays at 11 PM on 89.9 FM when Side Efx is not being aired.
