About me:
What up? - my name is Colin and I live in the Indianapolis area. I hate myspace, but it really is a social phenomenon, so I eventually had to give in. :)
I am the drummer for Broken Stone and the co-owner of www.splashtone.com. Broken Stone is a band that when asked to describe, I can only think of Fuel...but we're totally different from them. It is really cliche, but I hate putting a label on music because it immediately paints a picture in the person's head of the number-one artist of that genre. So let me just say that I love a bunch of different kinds of music and wouldn't hesitate to write a swing song, a punk song, or a rap song with these guys. It's all just about having fun with the music. That's why I love the drums - more than anything else, you can feel the music as you play it.
My number one concern when I put on a show is showing the audience that I am having a good time. Having fun is infectious - if you're not having fun as a performer, the audience won't either. I secretly want to sing in a band. Maybe it's all this time sitting in the back of the stage and getting the least attention that makes me want to be up front. :) Maybe one of these days, Broken Stone will let me sing a song - the only problem is that I can't sing and play drums at the same time.
SplashTone is a business I recently started. I don't want to go on some big marketing pitch here, but I will say that I really think it could change the performing arts scene everywhere. Read our blog here. I probably won't be able to keep this myspace account updated too terribly often, but you can always go to our blog to hear the latest in my rants and raves. :)
To all of our (Broken Stone) fans - thanks for being so supportive!! And when you come and see us, don't forget that the drummer likes attention too! :)
