Lots of influences from many different genres of music. Here are just a few: George Benson, Willie Nelson, Tony Bennett, Merle Haggard, Steve Tyrell, Diana Krall, Brian Stezer, Wes Montgomery, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Henry Mancicni, Percy Faith, Joe Williams. There are others, but these are the ones that first came to mind. As I said, they come from all types and genres of music.

Hello!. I'm Al David.
I grew up playing lead guitar in Contemporary Country and Southern Rock bands. I played in bands for over 40 years. Now, I stay home and compose music...I write songs - lyrics and music. I also compose music to other people's lyrics. In frecent years, I have branched out into various genres of music. I now write Country, Pop, Latin, Jazz Adult Contemporary, Movie/Film Themes, and AAA. I'm pretty eclectic! That is why I listed "Other" as my main genre. I write in too many different genres to select just one. I lived in Germany for 12 years and played in a band almost all of those 12 years. I would like to go back some day...we'll see! I currently live near St. Louis, Missouri. But, I will be moving to Nashville, TN in about a year and a half. I do all of my recording in my office/studio at home. I hope you like some of the music I write. I'll be posting new songs from time to time. Check in every week or two...or more often...to see what's up on my site.
