Dee's Interests
General
SCA, dogs, history, cooking for fun (I love Julia Child), scrapbooking (I won a trip to Utah to meet Lisa Bearnson in 2004, hahaha), herb gardening, apiculture, reading, Role playing games (White Wolf mostly, some stuff from Eden Studios, Hero system--if you Google me, you can see the things I've written for White Wolf), being Episcopalian, comic books (mostly indies), promoting the midwifery model of care in birthing, promoting women's rights in birthing practices.
The Harlequin (You scored 23% Cardinal, 48% Monk, 41% Lady, and 43% Knight!)
You are a mystery, a jack-of-all-trades. You have the king's ear, but also listen to murmurings of the common folk. You believe in the value of force and also literature. Truly you are the puzzlement of the age.
Classical, Loreena McKennitt, Enya, the Cure, REM, Guadalcanal Diary, John Barry, Hans Zimmer, Celtic, classic rock, Dead Can Dance, the Beatles.
Movies
Out of Africa, The Incredibles, Gross Point Blank, Star Wars (some of them), Smoke Signals, The Sound of Music, The Joy Luck Club, The Matrix, Fried Green Tomatoes, Steel Magnolias, Serenity (though it made me mad), Children of Men, Neverwhere, Hunt for Red October, the Harry Potter flicks, a lot more that aren't coming to mind.
Television
Firefly, MI-5 (Spooks), Torchwood, Foyle's War, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Heroes, Jericho, Battlestar Galactica, Second Sight, Babylon 5, Stargate, Star Trek, Rat Patrol, China Beach, Alias, Dresden Files, Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman. I really don't like network TV, and I loathe reality TV. When I watch TV, I want to be entertained by a good story--usually drama, but witty comedy is okay, too. Both are becoming exceedingly rare these days; Jericho got the ax this week. All the more reason to love Netflix.
Books
JRR Tolkien, JD Robb, Julian May, JK Rowling, Tony Hillerman, Jack Higgins, Jim Butcher, HM Hoover (a young adult writer who is excellent), Tamora Pierce (ditto), Eoin Cofer, Anthony Horowitz.
Heroes
bell hooks, Gandhi, Margaret Sanger, Archbishop Tutu

Dependable and trustworthy. You love your significant other and you are a tough cookie when in a conflict.
You Are A Cypress Tree (And I completely disagree with most of this!)
You are strong, adaptable, and striving to be content.
You're good at taking what life has to give - even if you don't like it.
A passionate lover who can't be satisfied, you are quick tempered at times.
You hate loneliness, want love and affection, and need to be needed.
A bit of a live wire, you love to gain knowledge at any cost... and you can be careless at times.

You are likely to see the world as it should be, not as it is.
You prefer to celebrate the great things people do... not the horrors they're capable of.
For you, there is nothing more inspiring than a great hero.
You believe that great art reflects the artist's imagination and true ideals.
The Star is one of the great cards of faith, dreams realised
The Star is a card that looks to the future. It does not predict any immediate or powerful change, but it does predict hope and healing. This card suggests clarity of vision, spiritual insight. And, most importantly, that unexpected help will be coming, with water to quench your thirst, with a guiding light to the future. They might say you're a dreamer, but you're not the only one.

I really miss you as a teacher!!!! Jim and I were talking about it the other day. We just wish other teachers would lay it out like you do. Even though you do have a really long syllabus. ;) We know whats expected of us. I do really miss your teaching though. You and Mr. Smoyer are the best out there. I really mean that.
Just thought I'd drop in for a bit to say "HOWDY" Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. 30 more days to the BIG EVENT! I know we're all counting the days... *hugs*
