His unholy beats still stomp through weak standards like a thousand knifes through butter cream, as its unmistakably shown with the opening track ES SCHEPPERT WIE DEF LEPPARD, his rusty sounds still scrape over the blackboard of life and still no-ones reached the minbending peak of sweat and emotion, that this not-so-lonely wanderer from the Canadian woods calls his edge, coming from a place that taught him the art of slow thunderstorming and relaxed earthquaking. But KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID goes even further than the debut WRITTEN IN LIPSTICK, presenting an artist refining his craft, lowering his bass-drums, distinguishing his moods.
SID LE ROCKs bone-breaking funk knows more about euphoria than meets the eye, but also finds his way through dark and sad alleys of your mind. You might hear the creeping madness in the clean electro beats and the bewildered singing featured by the track NAKED. Or you may succumb to the tender melancholy, the dreamy chords or the delicately placed bass-lines as formulated in both HEART BEHAVE and the title track. You might even call it precise pop, wouldnt it be for the good ole distortion pedal that reminds our hero of his origins and his goals: those sharp riffs, the rattling voices and dem waving booties. Its on purpose, that FATAL DISTRACTION feels like the secret center of the album and will be the first single taken to the crowd. Sulfuric voices and a stoic bass lurk in front of a guitar-driven wall-of-noise, that keeps the refrain from any indecision. Always remember: Its a party, baby, so theres no way back.
