About Sierra Nevada Guitar Festival and Competition

- Sierra Nevada Festival Details -
The Sierra Nevada Classical Guitar Festival and Competition will take place from August 1-3, 2008 at beautiful Lake Tahoe.
Festival participants will enjoy six concerts in three days. The final concert will be held in the Frank Sinatra Ballroom in the historic Cal-Neva Resort and Casino. Over 30 masterclasses will be taught in three days! Enrollment in masterclasses is open until filled, so register early to get a spot. Vendors are also welcome to register if they contact the Sierra Nevada Guitar Society.
In addition to the festival activities, participants can experience all the natural beauty Lake Tahoe has to offer. As another great attraction, the Reno/Tahoe area is little more than a 3-hour drive to San Francisco where the 2008 Guitar Foundation of America International Convention and Competition will be held from August 5-10, 2008. Shuttle service to the nearby international airport in Reno, Nevada will be available to participants.

-Works performed in Round One may be repeated in Round Two with no penalty.
-Time limits will be strictly observed.
-Round Two is open to the public.
-All decisions of the Jury are final.
-No age limit.
-Competition Entry Fee: $35
-Competition Entry Deadline: July 1, 2008
-Prizes: First, $500; Second, $200; Third, Gift Awards TBA
-Finalists will perform in the final-day concert.
