About me:
We like sneakers, kicks, trainers or what ever you want to call them. What you see here is the latest in our never ending quest to design the best sneakers, ever! This is no easy task, when you are up against the mega corporations with their deep pockets. We do this on a budget less than what they spend on hookers during the latest corporate team building event. While their management is laughing their arses off watching kids line up for 24hrs to buy their latest "ltd edition" offering, we are pouring our heart and soul into making Sifika the best shoe brand we can. We are about supporting boutique retailers. You won't find us in any one of the bland chain stores at your local mall or on the feet of every kook who has just discovered Newera & Designer polo shirts (is that too harsh??).
Sifika Footwear started in 2003 by Jon Julio a professional rollerblader from the Bay Area and Kennedy Poynter a designer based in Auckland New Zealand.
Sifika has also hooked up artists such as Goldenchyld from the Fingerbangerz, etc. The first season Back to School 2004 saw the development of the core range with the Apia, Newton, Otara and Haight models. All named after places in the Pacific region. 2005 saw the release of the first limited edition artist model by Erik Burke, a graffiti/fine artist based in Reno, Nevada USA.
2007 will see Sifika expand into more boutique stores and we are developing a new line to allow us to use more edgy colours and materials along with a new limited edition artist model, by Mephisto Jones of Wellington, New Zealand.
