Music
I enjoy music quite a bit. A few of my favorite bands are (in alpha order) the Beatles, Dead Can Dance, Diamanda Galas, Die Warzau, Einsturzende Neubauten, Front242, Klaatu, This Mortal Coil, and Thrill Kill Kult... but I have many many more.
Movies
Favorite Cyber/tech Movies: Matrix, 13th Floor, BladeRunner. The 1st/original "Star Wars" is one of my "all time" favorite movies. Other favorite movies: "Dances with Wolves" and "The Cube". I liked "Run Lola Run", Memento & "Pulp Fiction" a lot, partly because of the "time twists" in each of them. "Donnie Darko" (which also had some time-twist stuff) gave me some stuff to ponder (which means I liked it too). "The Usual Suspects" had a good lesson to teach, so I recommend it to those who are interested in strategy. I laughed a lot during "Time Bandits" and I enjoyed "a beautiful mind" quite a bit.

I am interested in many things (see list) but Zen and the "powers"/abilities of the human mind, AI, Quantum physics, geometry, the game of go (aka baduk or wei-chi), cutting edge tech, computers & cybernetics are some of my favorite interests. ---
Some of my favorite things to do are: ride my motorcycle on the LA free-ways as fast as I can go and not get in trouble, rock-climbing, having dinner with friends, and when we can't hang IRL then email with them to help stay "in touch" while I am away. ---
I try to be a balanced realist: that is I try to see the glass as "half full" *and* "half empty" (I try to see beyond our dualistic world). One of my mottos is: "Moderation in all things, including moderation." Moderation in moderation means that sometimes it pays off to work hard & life is more fun if you "party hard" once in a while (but not too often). ---
My social-political "standing"/veiw-point is very similar to the Dali-Lama's.
