The 5th (and possibly last..) Bohemian Masquerade Ball featuring... THE SPACE COWBOY- SPOONBILL RAPSKALLION- THE BARONS OF TANG KOOII (QLD) - MR FIBBY (ACT) PENTAPHOBE (US) - NAI GRACE THE BOHOBO'S MARCHING BAND plus more to be announced.... THE SPACE COWBOY Freak show wonder! A truly unique and exciting performer from Byron Bay Australia. The Space Cowboy is one of the world’s most extreme sword swallowers and performer of fakir and sideshow stunts. He is known as “The pain proof wonder”, “The man with the iron stomach”, and “One of the worlds most bizarre human curiosities” The space Cowboy performs many of the sacred ritual acts of the Indian fakirs, and witchdoctors. Like “The Human Pin Cushion” and “The Painless Wonder”, both involving hundreds of kebab skewers and hypodermic needles pushed through his flesh. “The Human Block Head” is the act of hammering six inch nails directly into your face The Space Cowboy also does this with an electric drill, via his nasal cavity. The Space Cowboy performs about 30 different sword swallowing stunts and is a multiple ‘Guinness World Record Holder’ for sword swallowing including the Guinness World Record for the most swords ever swallowed at the same time (17 swords), and he holds the ‘World’s first’ title for many other sword swallowing stunts like ‘the Worlds First Under Water Sword Swallow (Performed in a tank full of live sharks). One of The Space Cowboy’s most death defying swallows is a 60cm 2000volt glass tube with a microphone on the end (you can hear his gag reflex opening and his heart beating as it shines through his skin from the inside), and the sword swallow weight lift, this is another of his Guinness World Records, suspending heavy gas canisters weighing 22.4kg from a swallowed sword. “The Black and Decker Digestion Wrecker” is a sword swallowing stunt with a spinning sword blade inserted into an electric drill! And many more… http://thespacecowboy.com.au SPOONBILL The yolk of Omelette Records, and favourite at dance festivals around the world with his elegant and quirky symphony of honey-scented grooves, jovial humour and joyous beat trickery, melding an ever-evolving array of styles into a distinctive ozzie blend. Call it quirk-funk or downbeat with bite, Spoonbill takes the listener firmly by the scruff of the ear and leads them into a shady forest of rhodes, horns, and deep double bass, then back out into an eccentric wonderland of glitched-out grooves infused with talkback radio and rowdy bush cobbers. http://www.spoonbill.net.au/ http://www.myspace.com/spoonbillsound THE BARONS OF TANG 8 piece ensemble The Barons of Tang bastardize traditional gypsy and tango feels to inappropriate perfection. With accordion, double bass, saxophone and tuba to name just a few, the outfit create what they call ‘gypsy death-core’. The catchy tunes and punk ethos all tie together to mean one thing…dancing is inevitable! http://myspace.com/thebaronsoftang RAPSKALLION Straight out of Brunswick’s bohemia come Rapskallion dressed in their decrepit finery, singing songs of the open road, blue stone alleyways, fruit falling from the trees and the seven seas, Rapskallion, reminiscent of 20's Paris Bohemia transported to a Romanian tavern and then set adrift on the high seas. The Skallions defy explanation with a glint in their eye and a dagger in their teeth. Add a pinch of hip hop, vaudevillian sensibilities, a curly moustache and a startling array of hats, Rapskallion will inspire with their mix of quirky lyrics and rustic, rowdy and romantic accordion driven dance tunes! http://www.myspace.com/rapskallionmusic Mr Fibby (ACT) Forged from wooden cogs and lizard grease, MR FIBBY are eighteenth century Ukraine’s musical answer to Voltron. After confusing and alienating audiences across Australia, from Woodford Folk Festival to Robertson Festival’s ‘Irish Music Afternoon’, the unstoppable faux-gypsy warhorse of MR FIBBY continue to disapoint and delight audiences everywhere. They have been described as 'volcanic', 'full of sound and fury', and 'an inappropriate Act to stage in Robertson, on a Sunday afternoon, after a children's dance performance' http://www.mrfibby.com http://myspace.com/mrfibby KOOII (QLD) Kooii rises from Brisbane and shines a vibe of the city and it’s surrounds. Its music strikes a chord with young and old. Songwriter, singer and trumpet player, Peter Hunt, provides the seeds of most of the groups songs. He is joined by Dom Hede (drums), Tom Hinchliffe (bass), Lachlan Mitchell (guitar), Drew Stephens (guitar) and Darcy McNulty (sax). Together they create the groups’ distinctive flow and sound that reflects the members’ love for reggae, jazz, african and folk music. http://www.myspace.com/kooii PENTAPHOBE (US) Pentaphobe is an illbient experimental artistic project. Pentaphobe’s music is mostly known from Rachel Brice’s solos on the Bellydance Superstars tours, from her Yoga, Isolations and Drills DVD, and remixes of favorite songs by other artists. Very intense, dark and beautiful music with a touch of circus and industrial. Pentaphobe describes his sound like this online: Ever hear a dog laugh whilst bathing at 46 degrees celcius under a full moon in the middle of New York City? How about a turtle's fart of terror when you sneak up on it and yell "SOUP!"? The sound of a peach on a turntable? Imagine all of these things at once, in an orchestra being conducted by William S. Burroughs in a toga. Okay? Good. We sound nothing like that. http://www.myspace.com/pentaphobe NAI GRACE One of the most gifted & unique female vocalists in Melbourne and best kept secrets in Australia is our very treasured folk-soul goddess Naomi Grace, whose songs are an authentic rich poetry that is child-like at the same turn old woman wise, Nai manages to merge fantasy with reality, illuminating audiences with her vibrant energy and the heartbreaking beauty in her graceful voice.

Many thanks indeed for the very kind addition!
“The Terrible Account Of The St Fiacrius Orphans” will be back on at the exquisite
    Butterfly Club on the 5th 6th 7th & 8th of November at 9.00pm (Sunday - 8.00pm)
Do not miss this dark and strange theatrical oddity.

Like a demented BBC radio play accompanied by a 70’s slasher film score, The Laudanum Project bring you face to face with the chilling evil that occurred that fateful night at the St Fiacrius Home For Wayward Children.
    The effects will be devastating.

Get your tickets from: www.thebutterflyclub.com or on the night (you could miss out this way!)

All the very best from The Laudanum Project.
