About me: I enjoy Pillsbury Crescent Rolls quite a bit. I think the pedal steel guitar is the most amazing musical instrument ever invented - taking second after the piano. I enjoy making long amazing stripes in my yard with my rebuilt 1987 Allis-Chalmers garden tractor - which sports a mower deck with full rollers across the back (check my photos for visual). I really like Jameson Irish whiskey on ice while lounging in my 60's swivel rocker in front of the fireplace. My parents are two of the most amazing people in the world. Years ago, I had a cat named Lewis and then later a cat named Wendy. Now, I'm blissfully married to Wendy Lewis (whoa, freaky!). My Grandfather (Slim) was a bartender (he mixed drinks). My Dad is a pharmacist (he mixed drugs). I am a recording engineer (I mix music). I absolutely cherish living in the country ... it's so quiet in the morning, so starry at night, and the breezes that blow through the house in the Summer make for beautiful naps. The house we live in was built for the doctor who first administered Streptomycin in the U.S. curing TB patients at a sanitorium which used to stand a few hundred feet away - his name was Dr. Karl Phuetze. One of my favorite quotes is from W.H. Auden and it's pretty sweet: "Among those whom I like or admire, I can find no common denominator, but among those whom I love, I can: all of them make me laugh"
Who I'd like to meet: Kurt Vonnegut, Ah, Kurt (R.I.P.) ... a quote from his new book "A Man Without a Country":
Even the simplest jokes are based on tiny twinges of fear, such as the question, "What is the white stuff in bird poop?" The auditor, as though called upon to recite in school, is momentarily afraid of saying something stupid. When the auditor hears the answer, which is, "That's bird poop, too," he or she dispels the automatic fear with laughter. He or she has not been tested after all.
Yes, I would like to meet with and maybe have a smoke or two with Kurt Vonnegut
Don't go far away. We're working on a plan. Sure, a plan. Like you need a plan for an ICE RINK BRAWL. Let us know if you want one in your back yard. Otherwise stay put until you hear more. How's that for a simple music contract.
Hey Brent. Hope all is going well bud! My band was just featured on Frequency TV! Wanted to you to check it out! I have a little care package coming to you in the mail at Pachyderm. The album, some pictures, and some other stuff. Thanks for everything again! Enjoy and keep in touch!
Here is the best I could muster from the vaults of a former member of No Means No: Andy Kerr. (Now of Two Pin Din) I love it: A self-aware stalker-ish song from a truly intelligent audiophile...
