S.K.Y was formed in 2004, under the name of Heaven's Gate, with the main aim to perform rock masses in the local church of San Gwann.
Eventually these rock masses were stopped but we continued to practice and took part in the BJs music marathon in 2007 as our last gig together because we had decided to go our separate ways. In June, IzZy submitted the original song Point Blank to the Xfm Virtual Rockstar competition and passed to the finals. She needed to submit a video and therefore called upon all her former bandmates as the song hadnt been professionally recorded yet.
The song was later recorded with virtual drums but real violin and guitar. At around this time, Sean (violin), Dre (lead guitar) and Izzy (vocals) decided to get back together and work as a team, and delivered a brilliant performance on the Fuego Rooftop in St.Julians.
in 2008 they recorded and submitted 'No Button To Rewind' and passed to the final 12 in the Xfm GO Virtual Rockstar Competition in which they placed 4th after an electric performance at Henry J.Bean's at the Corinthia San Gorg Hotel, St.Julians.
In 2009 S.K.Y guitarist, Dre, decided to leave the group leaving Sean and IzZy to their own devices which proved to be the best thing that had happened to them. Finally free of outside influences, the two concentrated to bringin out the sound they wanted from their own recorded single 'No Button to Rewind' which was re-recorded and re-mastered in June 2009 and featured for the 1st time on NET TV primetime program IndiFest.
The Single was launched on the 26th August at the Soreda Hotel in Qawra with the help of iSight Studio which designed the cd cover, logo and invites and Sullivan Maritime Ltd., who so kindly sponsored the event.
No Button to Rewind is currently in the process of being selected to be played on the radio, although some radio stations have already begun to play it.
