Silencing the Stones is a Christian music ministry, with a mission to spread the fame of Jesus Christ with Spirit inspired and empowered music.
Silencing the Stones blends modern musical styles with poignant lyrics founded in scriptural truths and spoken from their individual experiences, invoking tones that cover the worshipful, the testimonial and the evangelistic, but using language that anyone can understand.
They firmly believe that the music alone is only making noise; but when touched by God, it gains the ability to reflect His goodness, and work to draw everyone closer to Him.
Silencing the Stones takes its name from Luke 19:40 in which Jesus states: I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.
Silencing the Stones mixes modern and vintage musical styles with real-life stories to create music that appeals to young and old alike, relating a message of hope and redemption for all. The band's live presentation extends beyond the performance of great music, to deliver an experience that not only pleases the ears, but also ministers to the heart. Their extreme versatility allows them to fit in almost anywhere, from a rock show, to a Sunday worship service. For STS, the music is more than just entertainment, it is a ministry - a mission to make everyone who hears them a part of a divine conversation.
Silencing the Stones was founded in 2004, and has traveled the Southeast US sharing their music. They have worked with ministries such as: The Basement, Mass Fusion, The Cave, and Good News from Above, and shared the stage with artists such as: Tim Davis, Nine Lashes, Short T, G-1, Big Prophet, New Covenant and many more. The band released "The EP", a collection of original songs, in 2005, and is currently working with producer Barry Blair (formerly of Audio Adrenaline) recording new songs for an upcoming release.
