Maos spielt Dobro, aber er spielt sie völlig anders, nichts erinnert an Bluegrass. Strmljan unterlegt die Saitenklänge mit Schlagwerk, Elektronik und vom Computer eingespielten Loops, so entsteht ein eigentümlicher Mix aus Wärme und Kühle, was hier so ungefähr das Gegenteil von „lauwarm“ bedeutet.///////////////////_I don’t even know how someone can play like that the whole time and after being done still has none of his fingers broken.Surely an impressing work done on this album by the SILENT ART ORCHESTRA! Reflections_of_Darkness_Sebastian_Huhn///////////////////////////////Jetzt haben Maos und Strmljan im Tübinger Sudhaus wieder einmal - erwartungsgemäß - alle Erwartungen über den Haufen geworfen und bei der Live-Premiere der Ende Mai erscheinenden CD "Larger than life" ihres gemeinsamen Projekts Silent Art Orchestra gleichzeitig sehr eingängige wie musikalisch intelligente und vielschichtige, schräge Leisetreter-Musik präsentiert.
Eigentlich sind die Sounds, die das Silent Art Orchestra produziert, völlig eigenständig. Wenn aber Vergleiche gewünscht sind und herbeigezogen werden sollen, dann ist Maos und Strmljan in Tübingen eine Melange aus Ry Cooder (sic!), dem atmosphärischen "Khmer"-Album von Jazztrompeter Nils Petter Molvaer, erdigem Blues a la John Lee Hooker und avantgardistisch anmutendem Dada-Witz gelungen.
