After the break-up of the band 'Trap Door', two of the bands members, Tom Lawrenson and Alex Pfeiffer decided to form 'Silent Conspiracy'. The 'band' consists of Tom on guitar and vocals, and Alex on guitar, and has been going for nearly a year now .We play mostly our own stuff as both of us write songs but occasionally do some covers, such as 'Hurt' by Johnny Cash, 'No Woman No Cry' by Bob Marley and 'High and Dry' by Radiohead. We have recently had a demo CD recorded and are hoping to get the album done sometime in the near future.
Our first real gig was in January this year at the Plough pub in Guildford. We forgot to let everyone know that we were playing until the day before and as a result, nobody we knew actually turned up. but playing an hours set in-front of a load of pissed locals we'd never met before seemed like the perfect way to start. After the near success of our first gig, we decided to arrange another one later that month. This time we were slightly more prepared and arranged not only a supporting band, but a DJ as well. We posted flyers and posters all over Guildford and turned up on the night to find the pub completely packed. This gig went a bit better, the levels weren't perfect and i screwed up the vocals once or twice but other than that we left feeling we'd achieved what we set out to do (provide entertainment for the evening and prove to ourselves we could pull it off, whilst getting steadily more pissed). Since then we've not played any big gigs because of concentrating on getting the demo recorded but I'm sure we will get another one organised soon.
The Subterraneans, influenced by Jack Johnson, Ben Harper and the John Butler Trio now have their music for sale for only 79p per track. Please follow the link below.
