Currently comprised of a variety of instrumentation from acoustic guitar to upright bass, electric guitar to drum machine, and children's toys to rummage sale keyboards; Silentium Amoris blends elements of shoegaze, folk, and brit-pop. The band delves deep into the roots of personal demons, skeletons in the closet, and the weight of social expectations. The oppressive nature of the government, state-sponsored terrorism, military occupations, the American lust for greed and control, capitalism, animal rights, and human rights are also all pervasive throughout their lyrical realm. This is a band that just tries to make it day to day, while living the life of the under-employed and making music in the sparse, spare moments of the non-business hours (often to the accompanying sounds of pounding on the ceilings or walls from upset neighbors). Always melodic, often eerie, and perfect for a lonely night of personal introspection.
