SilentJ began with two acoustic guitars on a backyard deck in Ellicott City, MD. We soon added a third acoustic guitar that quickly transformed into a bass. Months later, and another meeting on the deck turned up a drummer from up the street. Days later, SilentJ was born in a basement jam session.
So what do you do when you and your friends from up the street play instruments? You form a rock band, and that's what we did.
John our master of cover tunes, pushed Jeff and Tim to learn what seemed a like a new song each week. Kevin picked up his sticks, and just joined in like he'd been there from day one. Just six months later, we were working on nine original songs, and gigging in the Baltimore area.
People ask how the band was formed, and we can only answer, organically. It just happened.
Working, re-deco house, more work, cleaning the house, had roomies move in 2 weeks ago, big adjustment. We have been keeping a pretty low profile lately. I am hoping to get our band in action soon, bc I am getting so fucking antsy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lemme just say i think u guys are amazing! not only as a band, but as friends...jeff, u RULE on guitar...i've always told u that u have a natural talent for music, glad to see ur using it again!! john, awesome on vocals...and personable and funny, it was great spending time w/u...tim, very very cool guy...LOVED the energy u brought to the band and ur cool, laid back nature...kevin, i think ur AWESOME...great drummer, great person...loved spending time w/u and i'm sorry i missed the yard sale!! lol
all in all, combine the genius of all of u and the personalities of all of u and there u get SILENT J...wonderful getting to know all of u...thanks for including me in ur practice and for the free ticket to the show!!
