Silent Memories is a Gothic Metal band that was born in the spring of 2007 of the hand of Jerry, acoustic guitar, drums and lyrics, and Mary, melody composer and lead vox; with this new project we felt, "hey, the path we walk is not in the wrong direction". To say the truth we must walk the right way, because we are a a model for our people. It's so much fun trying to go up to the highest goal, a lot of fun to play with friends and discuss how to write great music. We thought the worst thing would be to write lyrics in English but Good Lord, we're wrong! The language of Shakespeare offers us a greater versatility that others do not, it's a question of taste.
The beginning is always hard so Silent Memories was not an exception. Many musicians have been involved in our project, different profiles, different viewpoints and people going in and out but, finally, at the beginning of 2008 we got a "balanced" team and made debut in June with our first show at the I Metal Femmes Festival of Barcelona.
Why a Gothic Metal band? Because lack of good and different music styles creates fatigue and boring routine. We virtually love female-fronted metal bands because regretfully we haven't had too many around. If it's already hard to maintain afloat a standard metal band, you can imagine how complicated is work out a female fronted metal one.
During the first quarter of 2009 we participated in the Emergenza Festival contest for novel bands; nevertheless, we had the opportunity to perform in mythical places of Barcelona like Mephisto and Razzmatazz.
We are actually in process of re-composing our stuff and recording our first CD that will include 11 tracks.
Silent Memories is looking forward at the future with a sense of optimism, despite everything, in the hope that the next step should be better than the ones we have walked up to now.

Silent Memories es un un proyecto de banda de Metal Gótico que nace en la primavera de 2007 de la mano de Jerry, guitarra acústica, bateria y compositor, y Mary, melodía y voz; al pasar el tiempo con esta nueva banda pensamos, "hey, el camino que estamos trazando no es tan malo". A decir verdad debemos estar en el curso correcto, porque somos ejemplo para toda nuestra gente. Nos divertimos mucho cuando planteamos nuestro principal objetivo, que es pasarlo bien entre amigos y discutir como escribir buenas canciones. Pensábamos que lo peor sería escribir letras en inglés y es un error, la lengua de Shakespeare nos ofrece una versatilidad que otras no ofrecen, es cuestión de gustos.
Los principios siempre son duros y nosotros no fuimos una excepción. Muchos han sido los músicos que pasaron por nuestras filas, de distintos perfiles hasta que, por fin, a principios de 2008 afianzamos una formacion “estable” y debutamos el mes de Junio de ese mismo año con nuestro primer concierto en el I Festival Metal Femmes de Barcelona.
¿Por qué una banda de metal gótico? Porque la carencia de buena música y diversidad de estilos provoca fatiga y aburrimiento. Nos encantan las bandas de metal con cantantes femeninas al frente pues desgraciadamente no hemos tenido mucha variedad por estos lares y si ya es dificil mantenerse a flote para una banda convencional, no es dificil imaginarse lo complicado que llega a ser para nosotros.
Durante el primer trimestre de 2009 participamos en el concurso para bandas noveles Emergenza (quedando descalificados en la segunda ronda… menuda novedad); no obstante, tuvimos la oportunidad de tocar en salas míticas de Barcelona como Mephisto y Razzmatazz.
Actualmente estamos en proceso de recomponer la plantilla musical y grabando nuestro primer CD que incluirá 11 temas.
Miramos al futuro con optimismo, pese a todo, esperando que el camino que nos depara debe ser mejor que el que hemos recorrido hasta ahora.
