Silent Movie Records is a fiercely independent record label based out of The Glass City, Toledo, OH. It all began with the cardboard unpacking of their initial release. Then to the flyers and stubs of sold out home town shows for their artists. Then to the stickers and flyers seen plastered on van trailers across America. Then to the pages of some of the scenes most popular magazines and websites. These objects clutter the space of their base operation as constant reminder that getting music out there takes more than advertising campaigns and records sales. It takes a mutual passion and desire between Artist & Label.

Guerilla advertising and marketing campaigns aren’t cleverly disguised as rouses to fool an unsuspecting public. We believe in these bands enough to do whatever it takes, whatever we can think of next to help them out. We don’t have formulas or a standard marketing plan. We have a love for our artists and treat each as unique as they are. The times are changing, perhaps even changed, we must do the same, we must rethink our strategies every day. This is how you excel.

STREETS OF FIRE - The Ghost EP December 16, 2008 on iTunes Streets of Fire began as a series of demo recording sessions among old friends, Rocky Catanese and Mike Drew. The pair had several songs and ideas between them after the dissolution of their previous band and after sitting on them for about a year, they decided to develop these ideas into something more. Ten songs were completed during the initial sessions, six of which have come together as “The Ghost EP". A MUST HAVE for fans of Couning Crows, Gin Blossoms, & Jimmy Eat World
