Silent movie type is a 4 piece band from Kingsville On. Coming from differences in musical influences they have been able to come up with a unique blend of song writing in an attempt to create something new. Silent movie type has set their sights and senses on a certain sound and style that sets them apart from any one music genre, in hopes of appealing to the ears of many. -

Silent Movie Type is a 4 piece band from the Windsor/Essex County On. Area. This current line up of Justyn Brando(Vocals,Bass) Brit Matschulat(Guitars,Vocals) Jason Jarrold(Drums) and Matt Upcott(Guitar)have been together for just about 4 years and in that time have had the priviledge of sharing the stage with bands like Moneen, The Junction, The Micronite Filters, Songs From A Room. Keeping the listener trying to put their finger on what they're hearing has always been the bands songwriting intentions. Combining dark lyrics, happy melodies and loud and soft dynamics that steer the band in different directions without nailing them to one. They've been compared to a variety of bands like The Cure, Hot Water Music,Sonic Youth, Smashing Pumpkins, Dinosour Jr. and even Fugazi. The Dec. 2011 self release of their latest album "Broken Horses" marks the bands third album in as many years, entirely recorded in the comfort of their own basement studio.(All which are available for free download on thier bandcamp page.) Silent Movie Type has thier sights and senses on a certain sound and style that sets them apart, in hopes of appealing to the ears of many.
