SILENT OVERDRIVE

Founded in the summer of 2002 the five guys from SILENT OVERDRIVE have devoted themselves to modern thrash metal. After some initial difficulties – like the search for an appropriate singer – Maik, the perfect shouter for this band was found. Shortly after, the first self-produced demo CD was released, followed by numerous shows all over southern Germany, where SILENT OVERDRIVE always recieved overwhelming feedback and could win a lot of new fans. A common sound was found swiflty, which the band decided to call “melodic thrashcore”. As the press was not really used to this style, they just filed the band into the upcoming metalcore style. Although this was not totally wrong, the band always pointed out that their influences came from hardcore bands like HATEBREED or PRO-PAIN.
 
In 2004, the first professional recording sessions followed and the 5-track EP "Babylon Nation", drew a lot of attention from press and fans alike. Shortly after, the band got signed by Germany's infamous underground label MDD Records; Twilight took over the distribution of the record. After the release, SILENT OVERDRIVE got the chance to promote the record on Denmark's finest death metal export ILLDISPOSED's "European Vindication Tour 2005". Having gained a lot of experience, new friends and new fans, the boys spent the rest of the year playing a lot open air festivals (along with MORBID ANGEL, OBITUARY, ENTOMBED, SUFFOCATION, DISMEMBER, GOD DETHRONED, GOREFEST, VADER, LEGION OF THE DAMNED, EKTOMORF, CATARACT, BORN FROM PAIN, SAMAEL, RAGE, BELPHEGOR, TANKARD, DEW-SCENTED, ONE MAN ARMY AND THE UNDEAD QUARTET, DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER and many more) and writing material for the upcoming record.
 
By the end of '05 the band hit the studios once again to record their first longplaying CD 'Disease'. The result is a ten song album with shitloads of killer grooves, tons of double bass attacks and singer Maik's aggressive growls and hardcore shouts.
 
After a small line up change on the guitar, SILENT OVERDRIVE toured middle and eastern Europe for two weeks as the main support for New York based hardcore legend PRO-PAIN. Due to concert offers following the extremly successful and well attended tour, the band will also be present on eastern Europe’s stages in the following year.
 
The band’s enormous potential - especially on stage - will be demonstrated again this year at numerous open air festivals und club gigs ...
