Bio:

LOOK IN MY "BAND MEMBERS" SECTION FOR HOW TO GET MY ALBUMS FOR FREE. Silent Paper Radios is the autonomous song-writing project of lil' old me, Dan Gubbins (I refuse point blank to write in the third person like an evil egocentric biog monster). After some futile experimentations with electronic music creation, I became frustrated, uninspired and burnt out which forced me to re-evaluate my musical direction (and life in general). With a 5000 strong record collection that homed music from Miles Davis, Bill Withers, Can, DJ Shadow, Jackson C Frank and Devendra Banhart, I was overwhelmed with which route to take but with a sideline interest in the written word, the choice became obvious. So, I picked up a guitar, learnt to fingerpick (or should I say "am still learning"), gently placed my heart on my sleeve and started writing sometimes abstruse and sometimes brutally literal songs in 2005. What you hear now is growth (I'm yet to know if it's upwards, downwards, outwards or inwards). Not just with song-writing, but with reality and dreams as a whole; the dark and painful struggles, the joyful triumphs and all the beautiful and wondrous moments that beat between.
