Sounds Like
"A band powerful enough to turn goat piss into gasoline!"
In a world where the music industry has been dominated by hip-hop and pop music of late, one local band is fighting to keep rock alive and kicking.
Rock band Silenus has stormed onto the local music scene and has wowed every audience that it has performed for with its raw energy and in-your-face style of music.
Silenus formed back in 2002 as a cover band with founding members Colin Beatty on bass guitar and Jared Mondell on vocals, but has since gone through different line-up changes to become what it is today. Now, with a current line-up featuring the two founding members and the addition of Alex Callenberger on guitar and Mike Krebs on drums, Silenus recently completed its first album of originals.
Produced by Hunter Wetzler, the album, “The Process of Un-Recording Memory,” can be described as Bruce Springsteen meets Rage Against the Machine — a truly original style of music that stands out against a recent series of stereotypical emo-pop bands that have engulfed the music industry.
The musical diversity and different playing styles have given Silenus their unique sound. Despite their various musical backgrounds, every member combines to form one authentic sound that catches your ear and your attention.
