MySpace a place for friends

Silhouette began in late 2005, when they were brought together to perform at a talent show held in their High School Sixth Form. After the talent show, they became close friends and found that they shared the same dream of being in a band. The decision was made there and then.

Their first gigs were at the August Party In The Parks 2006, playing in front of over 2,750 people in just 3 days. They have had some studio experience too; recording their first four-track demo CD at Priory Recording Studios in Sutton Coldfield and are hoping to record again with some of their newer tracks!

Evocative piano from Beth and acoustic guitar from Lauren combine to create a simple, yet emotionally charged sound. Mary’s vocals are the defining feature of the band; she has a beautiful, powerful yet tender voice and delivered with confidence and charisma. Some well written material, the only mild criticism being a lack of variation in their sound, every song a ballad about love and loss, yet in all fairness, done in an instantly appealing way.''

''Up against some of the strongest bands in the competition, Silhouette held their own and gave another poignant performance of their beautiful, acoustic sound. Well-written, tender songs with thoughtful lyrics and genuine emotional depth, it’s an amazing feat for such a young group of individuals. Vocally they cannot be faulted, it was another excellent effort from the immensely talented Franz, and once again there was strong work from both Lauren on guitar and Beth on the keys. Bringing it all together well for a strong, well thought out set they were unlucky not to progress, but nevertheless proved they are a band with great potential.''

JJS Battle of the Bands 2007 said;

"An intimate but lively crowd at BOTBs Heat 3 was rewarded for their presence by an excellent display of music last night. The bar was set very high by Silhouette who opened the night with some angelic vocals, immediately drawing praise from the judges and leaving the other bands wandering if it was worth carrying on."
