I am Silje. I spent my first years in Norway, running around the forest singing stories to myself:). A bit later I learned to play the piano, later my mum's guitar, and at 13 I realized that I wanted to be a songwriter. I entered in some local competitions and stuff, and picked a route of education with lots of music involved!
Now I am 23, and I have completed a BA (honours) in Music focusing on songwriting and performance. For the past 4 years I've lived in Liverpool, England, but now I've moved back to my home country Norway. (I'm flat hunting in Oslo at the moment! :) I do gigs both alone with my instruments, and backed up by my fantassstic band!
I try to write lyrics that will surprise or touch you, make you laugh or think. I try to make melodies you'll remember, and wrap it up in arrangements and performances you'll enjoy! People tend to go through a lot of female artists when they try to desctibe my stuff (Joni, Tori, Kate and Alanis being the most common), but I know that Dave, Thom and a good few others are also there - I just don't sing like them! ;)For more music, pix and info check out my website.
