Over the 35 years I've managed to survive in the business I occasionally meet other Artist and DJs that really inspire me. The inspire me in a way that makes me want to run home and start playing records, record a tape or CD, try new things when I'm playing. Or, their sound adds a fresh coat of paint to what I do musically.
SILKY did this for me the very first time I heard a choon produced by SEMINAL GROOVES. And when we met we were instant drawn to one another. He was like the little brother I always wanted to dote on, show the right way to do this job, the proper way to handle himself.
But in all actuality he needed nothing from me on this score. The first time I worked with him at EMPIRE I knew the boy had a future in from of him, if he dedicated himself. And that he has.
SEMINAL GROOVES is a musical entity that I know I can surely count on for quality material. There are only a handful of guys in this business I know I can trust when it comes to the music they produce. SEMINAL GROOVES is in good company with some of the best in the business. And a couple of pretty nice blokes too!!!
In this ever-changing arena of dance/house music, if we don't have anything else, thank God we have some artist/producers we can depend on. These days it's very difficult for me to find great songs and productions that are truly dynamic. The kind of material that makes people really prick-up their ears. These guys have it in Spades and I'm a better DJ for carry their work with me always. Frankie Knuckles (Def Mix)
Today, it's very rare to find a Dj that truly understands the music he plays. I've seen guys study the scene from start to finish and they still don't understand what's going on. Silky just "gets it". He feels the music and more importantly, he knows how to convey those emotions to the dance floor, either with the decks or in the recording studio....................................... Marshall Jefferson (USB Records)
20 years ago Fingers Inc announced “House Is a Feeling” in their classic track and in the years that have followed many DJ..s and Producers have tried and failed to capture that feeling.
Silky as a DJ and producer is one of the few that fully understands those words. His productions as Seminal Grooves ooze feeling and his DJ sets alight dancefloors. It has been our honour to share the stage with him on numerous occasions and to enjoy his Djing and equally it has been a pleasure to play his productions in our sets and see people..s reaction to his productions that are full of soul and feeling!! Russ & Paul (K-Klass)
We djed with Silky in Middlesbrough, wowsers! I thought this guy was a robot his mixing was that tight!!! Great selection of tunes and such a great guy too! Graham Lord (Audiowhores)
Silky definitely one of the key players on the UK house scene right now, a rising star with some seriously smookin productions under the Seminal Grooves moniker definitely expecting big things to come in 2008 from this very talented Dj /producer! Groove Assassin (Large Music, Jellybean Soul)
With numerous heavy hitting releases under his belt and and ever growing touring schedule, Silky of Seminal Grooves is on the top of his game to say the least. From deep to jack and front to back, Silky continues to raise the bar and go far beyond! Aaron Dae (Dae Recordings, Dae Deep - Chicago)
"...What can I say?! ...Silky is probably one of the main reasons I got into djing! He is a natural talent & master on the decks. HIs choice of tunes & musical knowledge is second to none. ...His productions continue to blow me away! ...Silky has been a true inspiration to me throughout my dj career - His infectious passion for music can't help but rub off on you! ...Lucky for me he is a true friend to boot! ?
