Silly Walks Discotheque is the follow up project of the 1991 founded german Reggaesoundsystem Silly Walks Movement and has, with founding member Oliver Schrader and MC Joscha Hoffmann still 2/3 of the known crew on the road, bringing all kind of caribbean flavours to the massives.
The musical focus of Silly Walks Discotheque doesn..t differ to the alignment of Silly Walks Movement and still covers 40 years of reggae-history from Studio One to the latest dancehall tunes.
Always spiced with a dignified selection of other caribbean sounds as Soca or Reggaeton just as music from urban africa like the ghanaian Hiplife or Coupé Decalé from the Ivory coast.
Silly Walks Discotheque is also active as a Reggae/dancehall producerteam.
For the first release on the new label Silly Walks Discotheque teamed up with top producer Jr. Blender and created a classical dancehall reggae riddim that is a link between the apart drifting genres Dancehall and Reggae.
The ASPIRE RIDDIM has 13 Tracks and features some household names such as Gentleman, Luciano, Louie Culture, Lady G as well as newcomers as Nkulee Dube, the doughter of Reggae legend Lucky Dube, who performs her first Reggaesong on the Aspire riddim.
From mid of august the Riddim Selection will be available digitally at Itunes, Finetunes and all other relevant platforms.
The release of the 7“ Vinyls is scheduled for end of august 2009. The records will be distributed by Soundquake.com.

In der Crew sind weiterhin Selector Oliver Schrader und MC Joscha Hoffmann, der Silly Walks Movement- Operator David Meyer ist leider nicht mehr dabei.
Das musikalische Spektrum von Silly Walks Discotheque umfasst 40 Jahre Reggae- Geschichte vom Studio One bis zum heutigen Dancehall. Angereichert wird das Ganze noch durch eine feine Auswahl anderer karibischer Sounds wie Soca oder Reggaeton sowie Musik aus dem urbanen Afrika wie dem ghanaischen Hiplife oder Coupé Decalé aus der Elfenbeinküste.
Silly Walks Discotheque arbeiten auch an neuen Produktionen im Reggae/dancehallbereich.
Für die erste Veröffentlichung auf dem neuen Label haben sich Silly Walks Discotheque mit dem Top Produzenten Jr. Blender zusammengetan und einen klassischen Dancehall Reggae Riddim geschaffen, der ein Bindeglied zwischen den auseinander driftenden Genres Dancehall und Reggae darstellt.
