Sil Muir is the latest guitar-based ambient/drone project of Andrea Ferraris and Andrea Marutti.
Andrea Ferraris is a self-teached musician coming from an hardcore / experimental background. With the passing of years he developed a natural attitude for experimentation.
Currently he plays with Airchamber 3 and Ur. He has also played - or is playing - with: Deep End, Ultraviolet Makes Me Sick, Ulna, Luminance Ratio, St.ride, Cria Cuervos, One Fine Day, Burning Defeat, Marylin Tognolli, Valerio Zucca, Alessandro Cartolari, Claudio Parodi, En, Permanent Scar, Polis.
His music was published by Camera Obscura, Genet Records, Fratto 9 Under the Sky, Zahr, Shove, Loveboat, etc...
Andrea Marutti began his experiments with music in the early '90s. He is better known for his Amon and Never Known projects. He had several releases on Eibon, Amplexus, Silentes, Drone, Taalem, etc.
He is also responsible of many other projects dealing with different styles of electronic music: Lips Vago, Wolkspurz & Ramirez, Spiral, etc. Recently he also started recording and releasing music under his own name, in duo with Nimh as Hall of Mirrors and again in duo with Davide Del Col (Ornament, Echran) as Molnija Aura.
During the years he has published on his label - Afe - countless releases of electronic / experimental music created by a lot of italian and international musicians.

"Italy's Sil Muir presents to us here their first full-length work. It is a beautiful, yet melancholy, hour-long recording carrying us along that sleepless journey from dusk 'til dawn. Powerful and gentle drones shudder and shimmer through these four dense and amazing tracks. Sil Muir is the collaboration between Andrea Marutti (Amon, Never Known, Afe Records) and Andrea "Ics" Ferraris (Ur, Airchamber3, Ulna). Their only previous appearances are a lengthy compilation track on Transf.Order and a collaboration with Horchata on Taâlem."

"Play to: BN Chora. Jugement" is part of the soundtrack created for the "BN Chora. Jugement" installation by Massimo Indellicati / Progetto Sperimentale Chora and is Sil Muir debut release.
Our contribution is one long track (33m57s), entitled "To the Outer Fringes", that is inspired by "The Wild Blue Yonder" by Werner Herzog.

"Horchata vs. Sil Muir" (MiniCD-R 3", Taâlem, September 2008)
An "Horchata vs. Sil Muir" MiniCD-R 3" is out now on french label Taâlem. Horchata is american musician/researcher Michael Palace, for this collaboration he reworked two tracks taken from the forthcoming Sil Muir debut album and added his own sounds and structures.
