  • Bio

SILO, a rock group consisting of Calgary, Alberta’s up and coming musicians, has been blowing the roof off Canada’s hottest live music venues and burning up the airways since 2006. After the success of their first self-titled EP, SILO is preparing for the European leg of their Bad Luck Tour set to commence in France, early 2011, as part of Hollow Nations “Road Riot Radio – Stoned Ryder’s Session” Tour. SILO was the ONLY Canadian band selected to be included on Hollow Nations “Road Riot Radio – Stoned Ryder’s Session” after a multitude of submissions from around the world. Most recently, SILO had the honor of opening for Juno Nominated Econoline Crush at the Viper Room in Calgary, Alberta. Hollow Nations Isn’t the first music production company to seek out and acquire SILO's hot singles. “No Lines” the first single off their Self-titled EP, was instantly selected to be included on the rock Compilation album “Riot on Sunset Vol. 10” released across California. Media attention from CityTv Edmonton as well as feature articles in four editions of The Strathmore Standard and most recently The Portal Magazine, has caused a buzz among Canada’s airways. “Feelin Heavy” and “No Lines” has received airplay on 106.7 “The Drive” FM Red Deer, “The Rock” 97.7 FM Grand Prairie, featured on "No Singles Allowed" 105.3 FM Medicine Hat, and X92.9 FM Calgary. Canadian and American college radio stations also have SILO in regular rotation. SILO continues to highlight their true talent, which is evident by listening to every instrument in "Feelin Heavy". The highlight of musical extremes, ranging from the heavy, yet hypnotic drums, and that deep bass guitar vibe you crave, all the way to the flawless vocals and runaway guitar solos with harmonizing guitar riffs define >SILO’s musical direction as the most unique musical experience for the listener. SILO SONG REVIEWS Review of "No Lines" “A great build up at the intro; it comes in with a real good punch. The song has a good sturdy rock voice with the guitar sound having reminiscent of some 80’s metal supported with a great solo piece.” England 05.14.09 Review of “No lines” “Great opening... starts with heavy guitar groove... then the drums go of like the explosion of a cannon... this will be playing on my i-pod while ridding my motorbike... love it. Its modern approach to rock/metal hits right between the eyes... good timing like ...literally overall. Don’t stop pounding the beat.” Australia 05.08.09 Review of “No Lines” “This song should definitely be played on the radio. 5 stars!!!!” New York, United States 05.02.09 Review of “No Lines” ”Catchy hooks in this tune. Well performed and produced. I can hear shades of Pearl Jam and Nirvana. In saying that these guys have a unique sound. I would listen to it and enjoy it if I heard it on the radio. Keep going guys." Ireland 05.01.09 Review of “No Lines” ”Very impressive prod. Strong rhythm and interesting voice. Not the kind of stuff I listen to but I recognize the talent! Could be mainstream radio" Quebec, Canada 05.01.09 Review of “Devil in Disguise” ”Great track, I love the backing vocals! Good voices and good instrumentalists, nothing to criticize about. Why aren't you on the radio yet?” Netherlands 03.22.10 Review “Devil in Disguise” by The BaBy EaTeRs.... ”Love the Tone in this man's voice.....Very Metal...love the retro guitar feel...it really makes you wanna listen again and again. Hey guys! I was listening to Feeling Heavy and was wondering, what's the third line of the chorus? "I'm feeling heavy, so hard to breathe now, I'm seeing...chevys???"
