If one follows the two track north of Silverwood, Michigan, you cross the rolling countryside and approach the great cedar swamp. If you pause and listen closely you may here sounds of ole gospel music. If you walk carefully through the blackberry briars and low hanging cedar bows, you can make your way to the clearing where you can see the Silverwood Bottom Boys, under the tin covered lean-to, practicing for their next excursion into the modern world with their brand of ole time gospel music.
In the barn behind the lean-to, the ’46 Buick is gassed-up and ready to take them, and occasionally some of their friends, to a performance near you. They’ve been known to play ice-cream socials, Sunday school picnics, birthday parties, church services, anniversaries, tent revivals, hymn singin’s, wedding receptions, farmer’s markets, and as of late they are regulars at Saginaw, Michigan’s finest music venue The White Crow Conservatory of Music every Second SUNDAY at 7PM.
