    Suffice it to say, I'm a music lover with an extremely wide variety of tastes. I'm really a sucker for music from the 40's on back, indie, 'real' alternative, classic rock, psychadelic, folk, bluegrass, celtic, world, reggae, blues and even *some* old school hip hop.
    It's REALLY not unusual to find me listening to music ranging anywhere from Eric Clapton, Hank Williams, Louis Armstrong, The Grateful Dead, Yeasayer, Heart, Fleetwood Mac, Aerosmith, The Who, John Denver through Beck, The White Stripes, Kid Rock, Eminem. Bob Marley, Hendrix, Beatles, Sublime, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Cream, Lenny Kravitz, Jimmy Buffett and a side of Willie Nelson or Toby Keith at any given time I mean it when I say I love them ALL! Music has been one of my favorite things all through life and my taste helps show the variety that has gotten me through my Long Strange Trip....

When I indulge my TV jones I like Medium, Ghost Whisperer, Monk, House, Cold Case, Criminal Minds, Bones, CSI, Las Vegas, Two and a Half Men, The Office, My Name is Earl, The Big Bang Theory, other assorted comedies, HGTV, News, MadTV, Crime Dramas, Dog Whisperer, History Channel, A&E and my guilty pleasures, Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives.

    On my list of favorites are some of the Biggest and Bestest Books around. I like books that inspire, enlighten, entertain, intrigue, amuse or take me on trips through history both real and fictional...
    Authors - in no particular order - are a good way to describe my favorites:
    Gregory Maguire, Chris Van Allsburg, Jimmy Buffett, the previous style of Anne Rice, Ayn Rand, James Michener, Leon Uris, Ken Follett, Og Mandino, Richard Paul Evans, Emmet Fox, Ram Dass, John Grisham, Ann Rule, and for that matter I was eagerly reading all the Tolkien I could get my hands before Orlando Bloom was born... You might notice my taste in books varies as much as my music...

    Teddy Roosevelt for many reasons (in no particular order) such as:
    He graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude from Harvard.
    He was a great personality, a great activist, a great preacher of the moralities, a great conservationist and great controversialist, a great soldier and a great showman.
    He dominated his era and the masses loved him.
    He was the FIRST U.S. president to call for universal health care and national health insurance.
    He was the first US President to ride in an automobile and first in a submarine, as well as the only US President so far to have a toy named after him
    Roosevelt was the first American president to consider the long-term needs for efficient conservation. To Roosevelt, conservation meant better usage and less waste. He was reportedly upset when he found a small Christmas tree his son had been hiding however he was relieved after learning about the commercial farming of Christmas trees, where no virgin forests were cut down to supply the demand during the Christmas holiday.
    He gained international praise for helping negotiate the end of the Russo-Japanese War, and for that he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
    and, when accused of jingoism, he responded, "If by 'jingoism' they mean a policy in pursuance of which Americans will with resolution and common sense insist upon our rights being respected by foreign powers, then we are 'jingoes'."

    Men and Women serving in the US military, and their families who miss them but understand how truly great their presence is and how important their sacrifice and work.

    Princess Diana, for most of the obvious reasons, but also because she was willing to reach out to people.

    My parents for working hard, being strong and raising us right, teaching us to be strong and trying to make sure we were good people AND my brother for being a shining example of the qualities they instilled.

    My dear little Jo, she has not had an easy time and her life has faced heart breaks that some of us can only imagine but she does what she can to learn and grow and not dwell on the past but she looks with strength and determination towards the future. I am honored to call her friend and to be in her life.

    My Oldest Son, a Staff Sargent in the US Army serving in West Germany. He makes his family very proud.

    My daughter the scholar, a beautiful person inside & out, and also very creative. She has never known another parent and we are very close. She has been one of my best friends for quite some time.

    My youngest son for his great imagination, sense of humor, and his very kind heart. Plus he can do a cartwheel, something I never managed to do, ha ha.
