Every September 30th, at just before 6:00 pm, I go outside, look to the West and imagine what it would be like having Donald Turnupspeed unexpectedly turn into my lane. Looking to the West with the sun that low on the horizon is almost blinding at this time of year. It would have been hard for Dean to tell that Turnupspeed's car was gradually starting to cross in front of him, but Dean's car surely must have been lit up like a diamond. I imagine Turnupspeed drove through that intersection dozens of times without any thought as to who should have the right of way. Anyway, on that fateful day in 1955, his mind must have been on the game he was on his way to. It certainly wasn't on his driving.

"I think people resist freedom because they're afraid of the unknown. But it's ironic....That unknown was once very well known. It's where our souls belong....The only solution is to confront them--confront yourself--with the greatest fear imaginable. Expose yourself to your deepest fear. After that, fear has no power, and fear of freedom shrinks and vanishes. You are free."
"Some people surrender their freedom willingly but others are forced to surrender it. Imprisonment begins with birth. Society, parents they refuse to allow you to keep the freedom you were born with. There are subtle ways to punish a person for daring to feel. You see that everyone around you has destroyed his true feeling nature. You imitate what you see."
"A friend is someone who gives you total freedom to be yourself."
"Most people love you for who you pretend to be ... To keep their love, you keep pretending--performing. You get to love your pretense ... It's true, we're locked in an image, an act. And, the sad thing is, people get so used to their image--they grow attached to their masks. They love their chains. They forget all about who they really are. And, if you try to remind them, they hate you for it. They feel like you're trying to steal their most precious possession."
"What are you doing here?
What do you want?
Is it music?
We can play music.
But you want more.
You want something & someone new.
Am I right?
Of course I am.
You want ecstasy
desire & dreams.
Things not exactly what they seem.
I lead you this way, he pulls that way.
I'm not singing to an imaginary girl.
I'm talking to you, my self.
Let's recreate the world.
The palace of conception is burning.
Look. See it burn.
Bask in the warm hot coals.
You're too young to be old
You don't need to be told
You want to see things as they are.
You know exactly what I do.....
Everything"
"In that year there was
an intense visitation
of energy.
I left school & went down
to the beach to live.
I slept on a roof....
At night the moon became
a woman's face.
I met the Spirit of Music."
Hi im Simon, welcome to my space, which appears to have turned into a shrine to the seminal gods of indie music!
Anyway, i live in Salisbury and work as a consultant engineer. Moved down from London a few years back after getting tired of the rat race. Am passionate about music, love going to gigs and concerts and love meeting like minded people who are passionate about life in general.
Also love travelling, hanging out with friends, walking (New Forest only down the road) pubs, restaurants, good wine, the usual stuff....

yeah...I watched some of it but was a little tired to enjoy it as I had been there since 9am! We did Doves at the Pyramids in Southsea a few weeks back, a small warm up gig before the tour...I enjoyed that more! I thought at one point we were going to be crewing up your way but nothing came of it...so no Morrissey for me...I am sure you will enjoy it though...I seem to remember you being quite excited at Pompey Guildhall!!. I am up in Swindon tomorrow, doing that Radio One big weekend thing...looking forward to seeing The Prodigy, though it's a long day, 8am start through until 11pm!! Hope you are having a good weekend.
haha...yeah, that was me crewing at the Doves gig and doing changeover for the support band!! Still pushing boxes!!! Hope all is good with you...I have been very slack at keeping up with anyone on MySpace!!!!
On your birthday I wish you much pleasure and joy; I hope all of your wishes come true. May each hour and minute be filled with delight, And your birthday be perfect for you! With love ~Gee~
